    Looks like rose is winning the race so far

    I love Nahema, Rose Muskissme, Rose Opulente, Mille Et un Rose, Ombre Rose....

    Interesting - no one has voted for Magnolia

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Jasmine is now neck and neck with rose ....
    What a fun & interesting thread! My love is A La Nuit (jasmine), and I'm also quite fond of gardenia, rose and iris...no peony on the list?
    Most of these flowers I would never enjoy wearing in a single note scent, but I do enjoy when they are combined. Some floral compositions I enjoy:
    Belle Epoque-Guerlain
    Le de Givenchy
    Paris-Coty
    Climat-Lancome
    Some of my favorite blossoms didn't make the list they are:
    Boronia
    Mignonette
    Mimosa
    Champaca
    Does anyone know of a parfum that actually captures Boronia's exquisite scent? I've purchased several products from Australia where it is grown, only to find that they had no similarity to the fragrance at all.
    I have a problem with roses: I only enjoy Safran Troublant and can occasionally wear Rose Ikebana. The rest all smell like bug spray to me. I've tried to like them, but no way. In fact, I enjoy all kinds of florals if they are very subdued, if they don't stand out too much.
    Sorry to have left out the full span of floral notes folks - but the poll software only allows for a limited number of choices - so I'm really happy to see you adding to the list of other blossoms that wind up in fumes.
    I didn't list one of my favorites - which I still don't think anyone has gotten right - datura. Though I do now own SL's Datura Noir - I didn't get it because it captured datura. I guess I'll have to stick to loving them in my garden instead of bottled. Am surprised with all the technology available to perfumers these days that they haven't been able to make it in the lab.
    Florals are the olfactory group I like least, but I do love some floral scents and especially some floral notes like rose, jasmine, iris, lavender and orange blossom.
    I love violets and lilac blossoms an sich but they are notes that can be difficult for me.
    Sitting on the fence with carnation, love it in some scents, though.
    I don't really like (but can tolerate in some scents, if well-blended) tuberose, lily of the valley and ylang-ylang.
    Gardenia and osmanthus are no-nos.
    Have you tried Secret Datura by MPG?
    It is very nice, far better than Datura Noir IMO.
    Yup I have, it was fine -- but still isn't the datura scent I am looking for, which only seems to exsist in nature in the evening.
    I voted for osmanthus, tuberose and carnation, but I know that I love rose and jasmine as supporting heart notes in many fragrances where they aren't screaming (a la Chanel #5). I should have voted for iris, too...
    I WANT to love lilac, magnolia and violet in fragrances, because I love them in real life. I just haven't found the right ones for me (suggestions welcome!).
    Mimosa and heliotrope weren't on the list, but I think they are my all time faves.
    I think I like pretty much all floral notes with the exception of Gardenia.
    This note is so recognizable and non-blendable and stands out in such an obnoxious, goody-goody, "nice" and mainstream yet in-your-face way, that I just can't stand it. It is the only note I completely avoid in florals. I can't wear anything with gardenia in it.
    This is a lot harder to answer than you'd think cuz there are floral notes I like and then there are floral notes I can count on to work for me, and these two lists don't overlap.
    Love to smell orange blossom, lilac, LotV. Can count on skin success with ylang and jasmine. And rose? When it's good, it's very, very good. When it doesn't work, pew!
    Jasmal, Tubereuse Indiana, Fleurissimo, La Chasse, La Haie Feurie, Calypso Gardenia, Saks for Her, Samsara (more a floriental) and Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie are all great loves. I also like mimosa. Mimosa pour Moi and Fashion Avenue are my mimosa favorites.
    I voted for roses, ylang-ylang, carnation and jasmine. I don't always have great luck with jasmine soliflores (KM being the big exception) but I find they make a stunning addition to a bouquet type scent. Rose soliflores or serious rose notes have always been a favorite of mine and I'm in love with carnation scents!
    Ylang-Ylang with sandalwood, yummy.
    Unlike Quary, the muguet is problematic for me, especially recently. I used to adore Diorissimo amd went through many bottles, but now it has a very acetone feel on me. Don't know if it's a new synthetic to blame, but lillies of the valley are dicey indeed.
    Although florals aren't my "first" love, I actually like most of them except osmanthus (can't wear at all) and tuberose unless it's more of a background note and not too loud. Unless the scent is overly sweet or cloying, I can probably wear it.
