Default Almost a blind buy: Montale Woods and Spices

Today I went to a perfume shop to award me.

In my mind I wish to buy Carthusia Uomo or Montale Fougere Marine..... but when the SA sprayed Montale Wood and Spices I was totally mesmerized by the top notes (ebony, vetiver)...

Now the drydown is very interesting too with a very little touch of Incense (I loved Gucci Rush).

In her opinion it's just perfect for spring time.... but the incense nots for me are much more for cold time.

    Thus, my questions are:
    1) I'd better get FM for spring time?
    2) Is incense for cold clima?
    3) Has anyone already tried? It recall me several designer frags.... am I mad?

I'm of the opinion that you should go with your opinion. If you think it's "appropriate" for cold weather, wear it in cold weather. I wear what I want to wear, regardless of the weather. I don't think it matters that much.
Current Wishlist: Vetiver Extraordinaire, Rousse & Opus 1870

FM does remind me of several commercially available scents (one or some of the Cool Water offspring). Woods and Spices, while nice and unusual, is definitely a heavy scent and in my opinion, more suited for cooler temperatures. But then again, I am always saying wear what you want! It doesn't matter what season it is if you like it.

Yes, obviously everyone should wear whatever he wants whenever he whats.

I just has the feeling the SA did not suggest me what I was looking for, even if now I am in love with W&S.

For example, I love Antaeus. But I'd feel a bit cheated if a SA would sell it me as a prefect summer scent!

Much cheaper alternatives to Woods and Spices include

    Diesel ++ masculine
    Nikos Sculpture
Dunhill Desire Blue (although not very natural-smelling)

Fougeres Marines has nice accords, but they don't seem to pop enough for me.

Have you tried Creed Millesime Imperial yet?.........
    Lately I've been wearing:
Windsor, Bois de Santal, Original Santal, Elixir, Douro, Endymion, Reflection, Arcus, Marwah
