Default Spring is in the air...

Daylight savings time begins in the US this weekend, the sun is rising before 8:00 am, and the flowers are beginning to bloom in my garden. The spring fragrances that have been sitting at the back of my closet are coming out of hibernation. Here are some that are re-emerging into the light:

    Reflection
    Dia
    Fou d'Absinthe
    Yerbamate
    Eau d'Hermes
    Piper Nigrum
    Parfum d'Habit
    Iris Bleu Gris
    Intrigant Patchouli
    Ungaro II

While these are going dormant in the brighter weather:

    Knize Ten
    Jaipur Homme
    Cimabue
    Patou pour Homme
    Mandarine-Mandarin
    Chene
    Havana
    Jubilation XXV
    Idole
    Ambre Sultan

What are you pulling out for 2008 spring training?

This will be my first Spring since joining Basenotes. I'd love to get some hints as to what to wear for spring since my mind is totally still in Winter mode.

I think Daylight Savings is next weekend. I remember seeing it and was like, "Oh crap, it's on my birthday. I'll lose an hour and only have 23 hours!" haha, but that would be Sunday, March 9th. Nuts, leap year made me miss a Saturday Birthday Bash!

Spring? We're scheduled to get another 4-6 inches of snow tonight. Ugh.

I'm starting to sort things out in my wardrobe too. I'll be wearing some transitional scents until I fully get to the citruses and my true love, vetivers.
I'll miss a lot of the orientals because I recently purchased A LOT of scents and didn't get to play with them to my heart's content. For this reason, I told myself I'm not going to be strict about the weather/scent connection and will keep all scents accessible just in case (BTW I'm going crazy not being able to update my wardrobe on BN).
And for the first day of spring, as always: Pour Un Homme de Caron.

I live in Northern California. It doesn't even get cold until late November all the way up until....hrm...about now. Temperatures are up in the 60's. I predict I'm going to empty out my decant of TM Cologne by June and end up buying a real bottle of it.

    Hi Vibert,

I live in Italy and this is my first post. I have read your reviews and I like your taste. :-)

Please, suggest me the best spring masculine rose. ;-)

    Many thanks.

That is a mouth-watering list, Vibert. What I love about it is, well, that I do not just like but love most of the choices, but also, that none of them are stereotypically "springy".

Spring without wearing Original Vetiver by Creed, that´s impossible!!! Have you tried that one?

I can't wait to start thinking about spring.

Unfortunately, it's 10 degrees F here right now.

    Can't relate - it's always spring/summer here in Miami!

One that smells BEST in Spring is Feuille Verte by Creed!

I have been testing bleeker street the past couple days. I also wore it to the gym last night and I must say it does well in the heat as it does cold. This could be a great year around fragrance.

Mikeperez, go make creed come back out with Feuille Vert!

Awww, you're just mentioning Feuille Verte to make the rest of us jealous, Mike! I know it, I know it...

I'm moving Terre d'Hermes and AdP Colonia out from the back row of my wardrobe; it's still cold here (and will likely continue snowing for another month at least) but I'd like to fantasize spring's coming soon. I'm also considering a new purchase, and I'm torn between Castile and PdN New York.

You're right! Thanks for reminding me - I might have lost two hours total sleep time. One is bad enough!

Tried it on several occasions, and it's always bored me. Route du Vetiver is my vetiver of choice - it smells like digging in the garden!

    You obviously need to relocate.

Not where I am. It's 21 degrees out there, and 6" of snow are predicted for the morning. In light of that it's still:

    Heritage
    JHL
    Domenico Caraceni
    Royal Briar

and all the other lovelies that sparkle in the chilly air.
