WWD reported today that Swarovski is rumored to be in talks with Groupe Clarins to launch a line of fragrances (though Swarovski and Clarins officials didn't comment). The fragrance business is doing very well for Clarins: they are getting ready to launch the first David Yurman women's fragrance this fall, along with a Porsche Design men's fragrance, and the Azzaro and Thierry Mugler fragrance brands continue to grow.

Still, if the rumor is true, what will this mean for companies like Bond No. 9 that use Swarovski crystals to adorn their limited-edition bottles? Will they have to look elsewhere?
