Default Which perfumer would you like to get acquainted with?

    Me - Francis Kurkdjian
He is one of the most interesting parfumeurs.
Howevere I didn't like his newest Ungaro scent for women.
(But it's not his fault. It's Ungaro concept)

Meh, If I was 15 years older

Me personally - JCE and Dominique Ropion

JCE - Minimalistic Perfection, what I admire.

Ropion - Contrasts and paradoxes, just the right amount of drama, fragrances that do come alive

I would also choose Francis Kurkdjian.

He is somewhat an intriguing character, and being the nose behind Narciso Rodriguez For Her, and Dior's Eau Noire, I think I could talk with him for an eternity.

yes, yes just these two scent say everything about him

I am also impressed of the fact that being 25 in 1995 he created Le Male.
Today I am wearing Fleur du Male. Beautiful scent.

I have 11 scents in my collection made by Jacques Cavallier (alone or with Alberto Morillas): Opium pour Homme, M7, Rive Gauche, Aquaman Rochas, Ultraviolet Men, L'eau d'Issey, L'eau bleue d'Issey, Essenza di Zegna, (my favourite) Bvlgari pour Homme, Bvlgari Aqva and Sander for Men and it's quite obvious that I'm a huge admirer of his work.
I have to mention one female perfumer - Annick Menardo. I just love her sweet creations (Jaipur, Xeryus Rouge, Bvlgari Black, Body Kouros, Visit, Lolita Lempicka au Masculine, Boss Bottled...).

Ahhhh! More like 25 years older for me, she's just 5 years older than my mom o.O, damn, she looks young! Olivia Giacobetti was born on April 9, 1966 in Boulogne, France. You can have her Jack!

Easy, Lorenzo Villoresi. He seems to be very personable and intelligent man, with similar interests with me, like philosophy and history. It doesn't hurt that the man is one of my absolute favourite perfumers.

As Kurkdjian seems to be completely booked: the men behind Voleur de Roses and L'Homme Sage! I just imagine that they might have interesting personalities irrespective of age or looks. My poor French might be a real handicap, though! If it weren't the language, I would love to meet Villoresi, of course! I have him on DVD and a hundred questions in addition to those he already answered there. To attend one of those events he is organizing during the annual fashion weeks in Firenze would already be something.

Impossible to realize, I know, but actually Ernest Beaux. I've always admired the abstract yet classic costruction of his timeless gems: for that time he was all about pure tradition and dare in a flawless balance.

Olivia for me too... but for the reasons that are perfume related (I love her Lubin Idole)! Although she is a nice looking lady!

There are quite a few fragrances by her that I haven't tried yet - but the five I have so far are wonderful!

Horniness aside, I'd go with Villoresi. I'd love to talk with him about his perfume philosophy, ingredients, cultural history and travels - over a good Bistecca Fiorentina and a fine Chianti Classico.

If I'm allowed to pick a dead perfumer I'd say William Penhaligon, he's my perfume hero! If not, I'd go with Erwin Creed for the same reason that sleekblackroadster mentioned.

I hate to break the news to you, evogel, my friend, but anybody who states that "most importantly, she is very talented", is decidedly NOT a pig. If you had said, "Her looks take my breath away AND she also happens to be very talented", I could have let it slide.

    Daphne:

I would want to meet the late Edmond Roudnitska. He maintained that creating a perfume required many years. I can relate to his consummate perfectionist ideals and the need for patience and persistence in creative endeavors.

"The trick is to create a fragrance that has soul. It isn't a matter of mixing up potions like some kind of alchemist. Most of my time is taken up with reflection and writing - trying to imagine the perfume. Often I go months without smelling a formula."--Edmond Roudnitska, National Geographic, September 1995
