    Post Any suggestions?

My treasured bottle of Light Blue (Dolce & Gabbana) is almost empty. I always like to buy new fragrances, instead of buying the same perfume again.

Any suggestions re. a new scent?

*My wardrobe also includes Marc Jacobs Autumn Splash Ivy

    *I'm a 22yr old uni student

*I used to wear Clinique Simply, until familiarity bred contempt and I tired of the whole 'gourmand' genre

*I don't like to wear something everybody else is wearing

    *I really don't want to wear a celebrity's frag.

*I have an ever-present fear of being 'that lady on the bus' (ie. with the overly-potent frag that invaded the personal space of everyone within a 10 metre radius!)

*I'm open to wearing male fragrances.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

I don't know much about perfume, but I'd like to suggest a favourite I've recently discovered. It seems to meet your criteria.. Sung by Alfred Sung, available online at quite reasonable prices.

    How about:

    Asprey Purple Water
Any of the Jo Malone fragrances, such as Lime, Basil & Mandarin
    Creed Virgin Island Water
    Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca
    Hermes Eau d'Orange Vert
    L'Occitane Verbena
    Thierry Mugler Cologne

Try Black XS by Paco Rabanne (the male version!). It is very similar to Light Blue, but less 'blue and sparkly.'
Looking for: Andy Tauer - L'air du Desert Morocain & Incense Extreme

Hi there. If I'm right, you mentioned in a previous post that you're going vegan - welcome to our cult! (I'm vegan, too.) I've been vegan for 10 years, but when I started getting interested in fragrances last year, I forgot that a few fragrance manufacturers still do test on animals. Many houses do not, but it doesn't hurt to get to know PETA's, which has lists of companies (usually the parent companies of the fragrance houses) that do and don't test on animals.

Here are a few suggestions that might fit what you're looking for, from companies that are animal-friendly:

    Donna Karan Gold
    DKNY Women
    Estée Lauder Pleasures Exotic

    Good luck!

Creed Himalaya or Millesime Imperial are always good choices.

Thank you all so much for your suggestions. I went on a little expedition into the city today to try out all the ones that I could find and feasibly try out in one sitting (the range in Melbourne can be an bit sub-par).

Mugler Cologne was lovely, but didn't stay on my skin very long. I did, however, stumble upon Eau Sauvage (too strong) and Terre d'Hermes (in lieu of the Hermes scent suggested, which I couldn't find). Td'H is a strong possibility, even though it's not my usual kind of fragrance. It is also, as it happens, vegan friendly!

    So many possibilities...

If you can find it, you might want to try Paul Smith Extreme (women's version). My cousin in England wears it and considers it an ideal university age scent.
