Each of the following perfumers was sent a copy of this 1913 Ezra
Pound poem:

In a Station of the Metro

The apparition of these faces in a crowd;
Petals on a wet, black bough.

Each perfumer then imagined how he or she would turn this poem into a
perfume, what notes they might use, and what elements of the poem made
the greatest impression on them as perfumers. The resulting
contributions will be posted on Memory and Desire
( ) over the next two weeks, culminating in
an extraordinarily special giveaway on March 31. Please read today's
post for more details:

Memory and Desire Perfume in the Poem Project

I hope each of you will have a moment to stop by the site and see what
these extraordinarily creative minds have graciously shared with us in
response to Pound's beautiful, short poem.

Warmest greetings to each,
