either musk or verbena
So far mine is Muschio Oro and Spanish Leather. Unfortunately, my wife (affectionately referred to As She Who Must Be Obeyed) hates the opening on the Spanish Leather, saying it smells like Lapsang Souchong tea.
Hopefully this week I'll get to try a sample of Fieno (Hay).
either musk or verbena
Current Top 5:
Tabac, Cardinal, Brookes Brothers, Musc Kublai Khan, Andron
I find Colonia Russa to be fantastic.
"To be irreplaceable, one must always be different!" - Coco Chanel
I have only recently begun sampling Santa Maria Novella fragrances.
I have tried Peau d'Espagne, Acqua di Cuba, Iris, Opoponax, Russian Cologne and Tabacco Toscano. Samples that I have not tried yet: Citta di Kyoto, Potpourri and Sandalwood.
My favorite is Tabacco Toscano followed closely by Acqua di Cuba. Both of these have been added to my wardrobe.
I thought that Peau d'Espagne was excellent but not distinctive enough from other leathers in my collection to warrant purchasing a bottle. Russian Cologne surprised me as I was not impressed by it at all - I'll have to give it another try when it is a little warmer. I liked both the Iris and Opoponax very much but probably not enough to buy either one.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost
Although this weekend I smelled Eva and Ginestra and both are definitely full bottle worthy.

Melograno, Acqua di Cuba, Oro and Verbena (in the specific order)

Peggy: "Brother Boy has tried to kill himself. He jumped out of his bedroom window."
Latrelle: "Isn't he only on the second floor?"
Peggy: "Yes, but he hit his head on a lawn gnome."

Muschio is my favourite of the ones I've tried.
Currently digging: Le Labo Rose 31 and Oud oils.
I tested a huge number of SMN scents when they were on sale here at half price.
I didn't buy any.
Some smelled okay, some were downright ultra creative (Nostalgia), but I can't remember any having outstanding sillage and longevity.
I was left somewhat nonplussed as to what all the fuss was about.
I have Peau d'Espagne and Pot Pourri. Of the 2, PP is my favourite.
Fine fragrance is alive; it breathes, unfolds and unravels with each passing hour....
Nachting personal! As ever...
Without a doubt, Patchouli! This tops any other raw patch I've tried... and trust me, I've tried LOTS of em.
The only others I find interesting in this line is Opoponax and Marescialla.
I have only tried three so that doesn't qualify me for much of an opinion but Muschio Oro is my fav thus far.
I just love Nostalgia. While it's ultimately a leather scent, there's a lot going on and it does actually paint a picture for me.
I own and think highly of Muschio and Potpourri. However, I have not given most of the SMN scents a full wearing.
