    Default My First BN Post!!!

Hello all... glad to become part of the community and looking forward to learning and contributing to it. I'm quite a greenhorn when it comes to "all things fragrances", but have learned quite a bit just lurking here over the last couple days. The rare, few frags I've owned are Polo Green, Benetton Colors Uomo, Ralph Lauren Romance, Gucci Rush for Men (absolutely adored Rush for Men!), Giorgio Armani Acqua di Giò, cK be, and a few others I can't think of off the top of my head. Ohhhh, and I love sandalwood oil!

I blind bought Eau D'Hermes over the internet this weekend, but haven't opened it up yet. One question I have is on where to find a good quality sprayer bottle to fill with this new frag, since it's in the splash type bottle. Also, I'd be grateful for any good leads or links on something educational that encompasses everything from frag notes, to bottle types, and related industry specific vocabulary.

Well that about wraps it up for now! Looking forward to hearing from some of you!

Welcome! Warning, this community is addictive!

As for education, I would suggest reading
    -Chandler Burr's "the perfect scent"
-and Luca Turins blog, which is no longer being updated but you can read the past entries here http://lucaturin.typepad.com/. He also just released a book called "perfumes: the guide" which I know a lot of BNers are reading right now, but as I have not read it, I cannot suggest it. Check it out tho!

    Welcome, marcar72!

For atomizers, Accessories for Fragrance is a name that pops up quite a bit on these pages:

I've also used http://www.sunburstbottles.com for sample vials, and E.D. Luce for larger bottles (although they took FOREVER to ship).

Here's a similar thread with even more suggestions:

    Sniff and let sniff.

Welcome welcome. It is wonderful here, the knowledge, and interaction, is priceless. I will concur with holyjes, Luca Turins blog is truly an invaluable place to find great info; in my opinion the man is a genius, the likes of which comes along once every century.
Hope you have a wonderful time here.

They ship pretty fast and usually they'll throw in accessories to get the juice out of those bottles and into those decants/vials like funnels and those eyedrop, squeeze tube thingies.

Be sure to set yourself a rational budget while you are still rational. Things can get dangerous, especially in the early stages!

    - A spritz of Caron may be quite continental, but (a flacon of) Guerlain is a perfumisto's best friend...
