Fidji for me today. It's one of my long-time faves and I've recently replaced it in my collection. Brings back happy memories every time I catch a whiff.

    Happy Saturday, all!

Day-testing one of Parfums d'Orsay scents:

    Femme de Dandy

    Top: bergamot, peach
Heart: freesia, lily of the valley, ylang-ylang, anise blossom, cardamom, carrot, cinnamon, cloves
Base: tobacco, rum, vetiver, sandalwood, Tolu balsam, benzoin, labdanum, honey, Tonka bean.

The notes sound so rich you may think she's a heavy and overwhelming fragrance...well, she's not! Everything is smoothly blended, she doesn't shriek, and her low and sexy hum is very enticing. A rather overlooked little gem this one, which could easily become a favourite, especially because of the drydown :bounce:

I have enjoyed Femme de Dandy as well when I first sniffed it. I do not know why, but at that time I have chosen in favor of Tilleul and left with just one bottle. Still love Tilleul, but need to re-test Femme de Dandy now. That's how lemmings are born....

My SotD is TDC Osmanthus, thanks to a lovely UK Basenoter! There is nothing I dislike about it: citrus, fruit, lingering base, even decent longevity. Something very amazing that appeals to me on all levels.

Make the most of your weekend, gang!

I started the morning with Guerlain's Imperiale - needed a citrus blast to wake me up properly. Then changed into Petite Cherie. I think I will need a sote too. Not sure yet what it will be.

Go get 'em Ubu, and hugs to you and your son!

LiB, I hope I can remember Femme de Dandy long enough to put it on my "to sniff" list once our wardrobes are properly back up and running...

It's finally REALLY spring here, and like Chaya I am preparing for Passover, which largely means cooking for massive quantities of friends and family, which I love to do. So I'm playing it light with just Claus Porto Wild Pansy perfumed lotion. I'm so used to only smelling this in soap that I feel like I smell, well, soapy. Which I just might.
It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson

Do not feel bad, ladies, I am doing it all the time -- it is as simple as can be -- the sample leaked in transit, the handwriting is gone on the label and sometimes the label is gone as well. Good thing if there are some of the letters remaining, or the sprayers were of different colors, if not -- use your best judgement, read BN directory and train your noses! Everybody enjoys (read "deserves"! ) a mystery once in a while!

I guess I will join some clueless scent wearers: wearing Chantecaille Tiare (I think!) for this evening. Not a single trace of this morning's Osmanthus: fun and promising, but I have already forgot what it is supposed to be smelling of. Bummer!
