Sorry to hear that! But your 'drobe is pretty decent looking.

Do think a citrus and/or gourmand might be a nice addition ... ?

    Hi Mark,
wondered what had happened - saw you pop in a few times. Still getting mileage out of the same bottle of SMW?
That is a good selection there.
How about some Vetiver (guerlain, villoresi, creed) or some leather?

Cool Re: rebuilding after wife ran off!

    Hi, Mark.
My condolences, mixed with congratulations that you still have an unsevered jugular. Others have not been so lucky.

As we say in California: Step on the gas and wipe that tear away.

    *sigh*

Well, let's see. You're missing Dunhill '34 ( but who isn't? ) I thought of Acier Aluminium but the Musc Ravageur covers you there. Ditto Himalaya, as you've got SMW.

    Summer's soon upon us.
Perhaps one of the Penhaligons? Lowe Para Hombre? Signoricci? Gai Mattiolo Uomo?
    How about Cuba by C & S? Or Cuir d'Oranger by Miller Harris? ( It's a super-Cuiron, imho.)
Of course there's always Guerlian Vetiver. It's hard to go wrong with it.
    Or at night, with Eucris.

    Welcome Back.

    Wishing you better days,

    Mario

I'm with Bromo33333. Condolences all round. I've been there done that.

As for the citrus, how about getting back to some simple basics with Eau Sauvage? Always reliable, always a classic.

Caron Le 3me Homme. Great frag at a great price. Classic, powerful. An iron fist in a velvet glove. Accept no substitutes.

You need some citrus and/or aquatics. Terre Hermes, Erolfa and of the like.

Glad you pulled through, been there/done that myself. Hated it but am so much a better person for it, I know who I am alot better for sure!

Welcome back to the real world!!!!!!

Mark, sorry to hear about your wife but nice to see you back.

Like Mario says, it's hard to go wrong with Guerlain Vetiver.

Also, I kind of picture you as kind of a John Varvatos Vintage guy. Try it!

    Hi Mark,

Sorry to hear that - I'm in the same boat at the moment actually as me and my wife are separating - all over an affair that I have never actually had. I'm in London too so if you fancy going for a beer, let me know, it would be nice to meet some other Basenoters in London.

As to your wardrobe, I couldn't ever imagine not having Heritage by Guerlain in there so I would certainly pick some of that up.

So sorry. I admire the no-sh*t tone you manage when referring to such a terrible event.
I wonder if there's a frag that represents some part of you that you had to suppress in this marriage. If that's not presumptuous? Maybe it's just the particular cave I dwell in that leads me to assume that one can't be entirely oneself in most relationships?
And if that seems true of your marriage, was it darkness that you couldn't be totally up front about or joy or your sexuality or your love of Buffy reruns or cars or just what? And so then is there a frag that might help you remember to lean into this particular way of being that is open to you again? This is perhaps a question I'd like to ask myself but I'd prefer to let those who are more self-aware go first. (Ahem.)

I'm shocked. Such a decent man that can be seen on your photo...
OK, welcome back! Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta a really nice fresh, citrusy, a bit flowery scent. Extremely versatile, especially for the warmer months coming.

If we are going Acqua di Parma, I would recommend Intensa over the Assoluta, but at the end of the day, it's entirely down to personal preference. The Intensa has great longevity and drydown.

I love fierce as well. That stuff is genius! Everytime I wear it, it never fails to get a complement and make me feel that I smell so good.

Mark, Welcome back, and as I mentioned in the PM, I am truly sorry for all that you have been going through the past year. I have had my share too in the past one year. I am sure a lot of BN'ers have had their share. Remember one thing, going through these tough phases/situations does make you a stronger person. Stronger to face other difficult situations that you come across in the future LOL !!!.

Everything happens for a reason and I am sure you will land back on your feet and feel positive again.

Heck, you are already showing signs of postiveness by coming back and posting in here .

Your bottle of Jean Pascal will be on its way soon .

Do the Erolfa for London .
