    Default SotD Wednesday 30 April

    Another month comes to an end, and it's another day in ELdO Vierges et Toreros for me. When I woke up this morning, the vetiver note was lingering in a lovely way: the more I wear this scent, the more sides it reveals of itself and the more I like it.

    Have a wonderful Wednesday, everyone, and those who celebrate the May Day's Eve, enjoy yourselves!

    It's also a vetiver day for me, but I've chosen my husband's Encre Noir: really dry, dark, very woody. It suits my mood today.

    Good morning all Today I need a fresh boost and something to put me together.I'm a little nervous about going to an office talking about workrelated issues. It's a beautiful,sunny day,though so it will probably be a good day non the less. Sotd? Jicky edt.This could easily become a signature I think

    Back at work after a bad cold. Slept terribly badly last night and needed some Coney Island to wake me up. This stuff does wonders as a pick me up!

    Glad to see Madame X made the finals - I hope Serena never stops making this gem as it's now absolutely my favourite evening scent.

    Jicky for me today; made my summertime switch, moving my Jicky edt refil into my gold case and stashing winter's Vol de Nuit back in its box. Certainly feels like Beltane. Summer is a-coming in...

    Can only join Coconut's "Hope the server gets well soon".

    L'Artisan Parfumeur Voleur de Roses for a day at work, I know it should be lilies of the valley this time of the year, but the first of May is yet to come! Wet roses today, I did not realize how much I was craving my two year old Voleur until I sniffed some new for me rose samples from Miss R. (Where is she, does anyone know?)

    BTW, has anyone smelled Guerlain Muguet this year? Particularly nice blend or about like always?

    L'Air de Rien.

    I just tried it in a shop.
    The bottles were placed under a hot lamp and they were so warm, that I cannot tell if it has "turned" or not!
    All shops here do this recently, they put lights inside the selves with the perfumes.

    Is this an omen? Not a single Bizzy Server message yet this ayem!! :bounce:

    To celebrate - and continuing my commitment to The Girls I Came to the Party With - it's the indescribable
    Diorella.

    I've never been able to isolate from it's impressive laundry-list of notes.....

    * Top

    * Sicilian Lemon, Peach, Basil, Italian Bergamot, Melon, Green Notes .

    * Middle
    * Honeysuckle, Jasmine, Violet, Rose Bud, Carnation, Cyclamen, Oakmoss.

    * Base
    * Vanilla, Clove, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Musk, Patchouli

    ....but I'll say that - from the first - I was enraptured by the effervescence of the melon-y, citrus-fruity opening - the garden-scents-through-the-open window and the barest hint of something-baking-in-the-downstairs-kitchen feel of it. I just love this quirky 'fume!

    (You can almost always find Miss R. over on the Guess The Fragrance by the Picture thread!! Think her hand may be bothering her again.)

    I am shocked (shocked!) to discover I was able to get on the board today without a single "server is busy" message so far. Let's have more of that!

    Joining the Jicky wearers in lavender, but for me it's Serge Lutens Encens et Lavande today.

    Hugs to all. Cool compresses for Frenchie. Fingers crossed that Grant's making headway lining up all of his electronic ducks.

    I've been lovingly inundated with samples. Two swaps on MUA and doozie of a package from Twolf have virtually paralyzed me from applying fragrance. Instead, I have dozens of strips of paper spritzed and lying out on the table from which I am "snacking." The stuff ranges from Guerlain Heritage to Liz Zorn Ankhara and MH Geranium Bourbon. Last night I went to bed with CDG Lily on one hand and L'Erbolario Myrrhae on the other. My heart is filled with gratitude. I think the fragrance clan is more like a motherhood than a sisterhood. Their is so much fostering and doting.

    Daughter's homecoming has been delayed -- power outage at the Memphis airport, so she's sitting in the airport in New Orleans, poor thing.

    The "Today Show" is hopscotching around the globe with a live segment they call "Where in the world is Matt Lauer?" Yesterday he was in The Netherlands, and I thought of our dear "Dutchesses" as the camera swept the cities and countryside. So many beautiful spots in this world!
