    Montana Parfum d’Homme
    by Claude Montana

Fighting the urge to wear Giorgio for Men every day for the rest of my life ()
with another fragrance that has also returned to production.

Montana (red box) reminds me so much of Havana.

Top notes: Aldehydes, Bergamot oil, Green Note, Lavender, Lemon, Tarragon
Middle notes: Carnation, Cinnamon, Fern, Jasmin, Pine Needle, Rose
Base notes: Amber, Cedar, Cistus oil, Leather, Moss, Patchouli, Sandal, Vanilla
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost

I can still smell 3 Diptyque frags that I sprayed on my skin once... days ago. What the HECK.

Besides them, I've got Colonel Conk's Amber aftershave on my left hand and his Bay Rum aftershave on my right. The Bay Rum smells excellent! I'm fairly certain I'll buy up a dozen or so glycerin shaving soaps as soon as possible.

    Armani Eau pour Homme
    (1984)
    Roger Pellegrino

Top Notes: Lemon, Mandarin, Basil, Bergamot, Green Orange
Middle Notes: Lavender, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Lily, Jasmine, Carnation, Rose
Base Notes: Oakmoss, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Cedar, Patchouli, Musk
A spicy-floral chypre with eau-de-cologne overtones. Quite an old-school scent for today's taste, I suppose, but still worth the occasional walk in the park. Love that woody-oriental drydown weighted with the chypré oakmoss-patchouli accord. I like this for daytime business wear in mild weather. I would wear it any other time I felt moved to, though; I find it's quite versatile. This is a scent I would call well-tailored, both in the sense that it's well constructed and that it goes well with a coat and tie.

Inspired by the revived Djedi thread on "our" side, I am wearing Vero Kern's

    Onda

from a sample (thanks Gerald!) which I had sniffed once and put aside for testing.
Onda is strikingly similar to Djedi...however, whilst I have a difficult relationship with Djedi, Onda is speaking to my heart: it is warmer, smoother, somehow kinder than her austere brother.

Still enjoying the memory of last night's field trip with ComDiva. One must move on and today I am in my first full wearing of:

    Dior Homme

I like it but I'm surprised I'm not loving it as its full of notes that i like they're just not coming together to form the symphony I expected. Instead its more like a well-crafted pop song or maybe its just a clever little throw-away ditty like "Log". Y'know "it's better than bad, it's good!"

Gotta give this one a few more hours to develop I think - but I love the lush orientalism of it it coming out of the bottle.....

Oh, LiB, isn't Onda GORGEOUS?!? To my knowledge it's not available in the US yet (other than from Perfumed Court), but due here some time later this year. Onda (and a winning lottery ticket to pay for her) is going on my Wish List as soon as that part of our wardrobes is back up.
