Default SotD, Friday, 9 May 2008

    Cerruti
    Nino Cerruti
    (1979)

    Top Notes:
Bergamot, Galbanum, Green Notes, Lemon, Mint, Juniper Berry
Middle Notes: Carnation, Cinnamon, Fruit Notes, Jasmine, Pine, Thyme
Base Notes: Amber, Benzoin, Cedar, Fir Balsam, Moss, Musk
Very green and slightly soapy. I like this one because it keeps a tradition alive that seems almost to have died out. It smells good, fresh and green, and it backs that up with a good, solid construction. The foundation of this in woody oriental notes give it presence and lasting power. The middle notes with jasmine and carnation are sweet and spicy, which makes for a kind of "romantic" feel to this scent. Moss and fir in the base make the drydown a little different from today's usual. This is an older, fresher style of woody-oriental accord.

I am wearing Le Dandy by D'orsay. It has spicy top notes with sandlewood and touch of flowers which makes it very different than any other perfumes i have ever worn. I have kept this perfume for special occasions or to change my mood. This perfume is for people to make bold impression that they are not afraid to be different.

One of those 4 designer scents that will most likely stay forever in my Top 10. It`s sweet, masculine, timeless, sensual, animalic. To me the drydown is still one of the best ever in male fragrances.
When it comes to perfumes, this is by far the best thing America has ever produced.

Hello, everyone. Thanks to our lovely ComDiva, today I am testing

    Creed Tabarome
Notes: green tea, mandarin, lemon, ginger, bergamot, tobacco, sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver

Started with a quite pronounced tea note, now getting a big vetiver/tobacco combo and a hit of ginger. Very nice! Thanks again, C!

    Have a great Friday, all.

(Just checked it out in the Directory - the notes sure sound great.) I've never tried After Dark but I do love Miami Glow - which has lighter flowers and citrusy fruits with coconut. I like to complement it with a little acid - TBS Zestini....or figs (Figue Amere, e.g.)

But I'm still makin' the run for the roses, here ....today is CB IHP's super-licious

    TEA/ROSE

...from a sample which I think is the oil. I love CB's creations - very intellectual without being cold...great sensibility. This is a rain-drenched fragile rose with a dense black tea undertone - ALAS. As with most IHP's...needs re-application every couple hours. (This should be the worst thing that happens to me today! )
