Well I guess it is now saturday. I just came out of the shower and generously sprayed on Apres l'ondee. I really do love this scent, and sometimes forget just how much. Bonne nuit/ good night

I really felt like something safe and familiar today, so today is a pause in my sampling frenzy. The weather has been beautiful and sunny lately, when only 1-2 weeks ago it was freezing and I thought for sure that Winter had sent in! To celebrate the sunshine I'm wearing the fruity fresh and sparking Nina (new) by Nina Ricci. This is only my second wearing from this adorable little bottle, as I got is as a gift just recently.

Thirty years later, this is still around, and still pleasing, at least to some people. I have been on a green kick for a few days, so this one came to hand today. I think the green top is the most captivating part, but the floral-spicy heart and the woody oriental base with a touch of leather make this a winner all around. Leather chypre; bergamot in the top,
moss and patchouli in the base: the classic chypre formula.

Testing out frags again, even though the ones I sprayed on yesterday are still somewhat noticeable on my skin.

Mugler Cologne on my right arm, which is good but not quite as enjoyable now that I've tried Diptyque's Eau de Liere.

Derring-Do by Ineke on the left, which reminds me entirely too much of Aspen to spend $88 on a bottle of it.

Well it sounds like Tavorna's winter has done a 180 and gone back to stay with Ineespenes for a couple more weeks. I'm a winter gal so I'd be cheering every snowflake, but I appreciate it's probably just not funny any more Ine! One last snowman?

It's warm and sunny here in Switzerland and I'm in Tabac Blond edt.

    1) Fred -- happy birthday and many fragrant returns! I am always looking for your cheerful comments and upbeat attitude!

    2) Miss D -- no need for the note from home this time, but next time you are planning to be absent for so long, please be prepared to do some extra (sniffing of course) work!

    3) Miss M -- who knew that MM was the matriarch of the 80-s fashion with oversized shoulder pads!?

    4) Enjoy your winter spell guys -- this year we got NONE! This is one of the things I miss most living in the south. Nothing compares to putting a piece of cardboard under your b*tt and sliding on it down the icy patch of a hill, with wind in your face and often times a few bruises afterwards.

    5) Yves Rocher Cedre Bleu cologne.

Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille (thank you, dear Rockinruby!)

    top notes: pink peppercorns, bergamot
heart notes: incense, cedar wood, Bulgarian rose, ylang-ylang
    base notes: vanilla, benzoin

My initial impression: McCormick vanilla extract. A more recent try on a warmer, rainy day: woody, dark, boozy wonderfulness. Pass the salt so I can eat my hat...

for good luck, i'm wearing my latest purchase for the first time:

    Creed Fleurs de Bulgarie.

Today, I am up at an ungodly hour (yes, 20 to 8 is ungodly for a day off) as I am getting ready to traverse three counties up to Boyton Beach for the State Tournament (bowling, mind you).

Wish me luck, its my first big tourament since going adult 4 years ago... its gonna be a different animal from YABA tournaments!

A slow morning of writin' and readin', sniffin' and think' and coffee brewin' and sippin'. So far Stardust on one wrist and Le Maroc pour Elle on the other. The former is a mall stupor, the latter seems too confused with lily of the valley and too powdery. Plenty of arm space left, though.

Aqua Allegoria Pampelune by Guerlain - first time from a sample

I understand why Turin gave this 4 stars - an extraordinarily good grapefruit fragrance.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY FREDERICKTOO!!

Happy happy birthday, Fredericktoo! Many happy returns of the day.

    Twolf, I adore your "pun"ishments...

Today I am half-twins with Graffham, since I've got DiorHomme on one side and Guerlain's Jicky on the other, in honor of my wickedly wonderful (and very sneaky) brother MikePerez23, who sent me some beautiful lavender for Mother's Day. Sigh. Now I understand why Mom always did like him best...

It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Wish whispers, “Something is just around the corner,” what comes or not is never what was wished for. When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson

My sale thread has some of my underappreciated fragrances looking for a good, new home...
