Top Notes: Bergamot, Lime, Lemon, Black Pepper, Wild Basil, Rhubarb, Cypress
Middle Notes: Bulgarian Rose, Jasmine, Lily, Mimosa, Cedarwood, Sandalwood Vetiver
Base Notes: Tonka, Vanilla, Musk, Amber, Olibanum, Oakmoss
The citrus notes in the top, along with rhubarb and cypress, pick up the cedar, sandalwood, and vetiver in the heart. The floral accord lends a touch of sweetness without overwhelming the greener, spicier and darker notes. Bergamot, oakmoss, and amber give this a chypre quality, and this is enhanced by oriental notes in the base.
This scent has great development and an unusual, modern feel.

I don't intend to go anywhere today (except maybe study a bit) and this is the perfect fragrance for it - although I'm bored of it already... never buy perfume after smelling around 10/12 perfumes on cards...
Coney Island. The weather insists.
I am so looking forward to my rollercoaster tour at the end of the month. I'll be flying to Texas and then we're heading straight up the middle of the US as far as Minnesota.
Wondering what scents to take... When I did Scandinavia last year I took a little pack of Neil Morris samples, but I'm wondering if I can take Coney Island this time...
M7 Fresh as long as the weather cooperates.
YSL's M7...giving it a whirl this dreary day.

Will be a lazy Whit Monday for me (all alone in the house, yay!), maybe I should move my a** outdoors as a change? (that sounded strange...) -Yes, I think I will.
Enjoy your day, my sweet-smelling friends!

Lolita Lempicka. Have a nice week everyone!
It's Whit Monday?
Ah - that's why we have the day off. Thanks Musse, I didn't know why. (Not being near my church-going friends back home means some things slip from my consciousness.) this also explains the long and especially lovely bell ringing from our local church this morning.
Looking at what everyone else is wearing today, I've been dithering which scent to choose, going between Un Jardin en Mediterranee and Bulgari Black, which I was craving last night for its vanilla.
But since it's Whit, I'll have to go with the monochromatic theme and wear Black.
Have a lovely day all - I hope it's sunny where you are.

Miss I., what part of Texas, what dates and for how long? There is an opportunity that you do not need anything at all with you, be it Creed or others.
Miss M., "outdoors" you said? To that new French bakery?
It has cooled down some -- that's the way aha! aha! -- to about 48 degrees F at night and still gorgeous days without AC during the daytime (around 70 degrees F, although we have already been in the 90's this year). Les Nereides Imperial Opoponax for the morning thanks to a thoughtful BNer.
Have a great week!
L'Homme from a sample... and unfortunately not liking it after a while.

b) This scent has been proven to stop men in their tracks to ask what it is.

Indiscreet, my vote is for you to bring Coney Island, a sample of Stephanie de St.-Aignan's Voleur de Ciels for a couple of the crests, and your credit card to bring home a few others from your trip.
Love the fact that it's both Whit Monday and Buddha's birthday.
Testing Jo Malone Dark Amber and Ginger Lily. Like it very much, but trying to decide how I feel about owning another Jo Malone, with whom I have a somewhat tempestuous relationship.
Still, I got a "Wow, you're wearing something nice," from DS#2, and DAGL has many great notes (from NowSmellThis): Black cardamom, pink pepper, ginger, night blooming jasmine, orchid, water lily, rose, black amber, white pepperwood, leather, patchouli, sandalwood and Kyara incense accord.

It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Wish whispers, “Something is just around the corner,” what comes or not is never what was wished for. When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson

I missed my flight to Detroit yesterday so I'm being fierce today with the ubber sillage monster Lalique Lion - On my way back to JFK. Grrrrr!
So much loved the discipline of having my frags selected in advance for my self-imposed Rose Week, that I did it again! This will be Samples Week.
Starting with Calder Island Lavender which has already led me into Full Bottle territory. (Thankyouthankyou Whispering Leaves!!)

from a sample. I am loving this and it is unlike anything else I have. A full bottle may be in my future.
Have a great day everyone.
I'm unexpectedly in l'Heure Bleu. I left home without scent and rummaged through my stash in my office drawer. I thought I'd end up in AG's Rose Absolue, but LHB tempted me for a change. I didn't like it much for the first hour, then we began to mellow together. I have a difficult relationship with this fragrance, but today I'm happy to wear a light application. I may reapply more after work.
Wore YSL Cinema Festival d'Ete this evening to restart taekwondo. Man I am so unfit! Came home, showered off and now wearing AP Maitresse and off to start decanting some Pi and Lolita Lempicka so will probably smell like that (I fiiiinally got my hands on some vials... but 25 aren't going to last very long - I should have thought of that earlier )
