Testing SL Fleurs d'Oranger today! Haven't been having much luck with the last few samples, but this one has turned it all around! What a gorgeous floral/citrus scent. What I can smell the most strongly is a gorgeous real orange, freshly cut. It also definitely has florals in there, but what I notice most is that REAL orange smell. It's got the sweetness of the flesh and the also the orange skin scent. Loving it! And even the bf said it was 'alright.' Another Lutens I've fallen for!

Every year on this date the story was told to me.

A girl looking up at the sky and shouting in delight to her mother: "come and see, they are throwing balloons".
And then Rotterdam burned, the heart of the city, my city, was destroyed.

This night for the second time I will be there, watching the beams of light along the fire line reaching to the sky. I will be there, representing that girl, my mother.

A couple weeks ago when my middle daughter was in a period of utter early teen despair I got her a bottle of this. I love that she loves it, it's so Barbie diorama of a beach. In a good way. And so now we're going to be fragrance matchies and then I'll drive her to school in the convertible with our plastic hair streaming behind us. Ah, paternal bliss.
And thanks to Riannon for sharing a daughter story in a very different key.

Riannon, thank you for sharing your mother's beautiful, difficult story, and for continuing to remember. Why does it not surprise me at all that my bear sister is so fierce and dedicated?

Strolly, your "Malibu beach house" fragrance gift to your daughter sounds like a great parenting moment. Would that we could help our kids through all their adolescent angst with a bottle of scent!

Top Notes: Mimosa Leaf, Almond Blossom, Rose.

    Middle Notes: Buddleia, Mimosa Blossom.

Base Notes: Almond Wood, Hibiscus, Hibiscus Seed.
