CoSTUME NATIONAL 21
bergamot, milk, orange blossoms, saffron, cumin, pepper, cashmere wood, royal jelly, moss, clary sage, patchouli, olibanum, amber, sandalwood, oudh wood, cedar, vetiver, labdanum, tonka bean, vanilla and musk
Created in honor of the 21st anniversary of Costume National, 21 pays homage to the luxurious simplicity that can be found in the hypermodern and timeless creations of this Italian fashion house. 21, an alluring blend of understatement and sensuality, captures 21 favorite scents of the designer Ennio Capasa. The intriguing list of notes features milk and orange blossom, saffron and cumin, royal jelly and oud, moss and vanilla. Creamy, dreamy, enveloping, 21 is an olfactory vision in white. The tender floral top notes dissolve into the soft spiciness of the heart, where saffron mixes with patchouli, oud and olibanum in an accord of astounding depth and opulence. The sweet darkness of the base notes of tonka bean, vanilla and musk is the very epitome of comfort. At once astonishingly sensual and beautifully tranquil, 21 is destined to become a new cult favorite.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost

In accord with the Chanel sync day I'n testing Allure edp . I don't liike Chanels though I have some bottles in my wardrobe. This Allure is from a store sample. It is so not me. I'll see how far through the day I can carry this before screaming for change. I should have started with a different Chanel, but I think the end result would have been the same.
Many happy returns to Schachman. Enjoy your day.

Happy Birthday, Schachman !
For SSD, I'm in Cristalle Edp- very iris-y.
Love to you all -
I forgot about SSD this morning and liberally spritzed with Bandit edp for a day of spring cleaning and scrubbing floors *groan*.
If I get chance to have a bth after my labours I'll dip into my decant of 'Bwah dez Eels' as a SOTE.
Stupid to have forgotten - I went and tested Chanel No. 5 edp yesterday and - gasp! - I finally get it!
This was my Mum's signature scent for yonks. I remember being a teenager about to go to one of my first youth club discos and my Mum very generously giving me a squirt of her precious No. 5. I felt so grown up. Until it started to smell exactly like cherry cough mixture! I've never been able to wear it, but finally yesterday I got to smell the roses. It's lovely and I'm delighted to be a proper grown up lady at last.

Sycomore for SSD.
The only sample I have from Chanel. I like this! I've neglected Chanel. Thanks for SSD and the motivation to try something different.
Happy birthday to Schachman! Nice to read your posts!
Joining many Bois des Iles wearers as planned. I got the older bottle here and only recently tried the re-formulated version (from Coconut, I guess?) and let me tell you: they are about the same.
I heard that people with colder skins can't "do" Chanel because the dreaded metallic note starts sticking out to almost poke them in the ribs, but what do I know with my warm skin and blue blood? #19, #22, Cristalle, Coromandel, 31 Rue Cambon are staples here. Egoiste -- once in while. La Pausa that nobody was impressed with -- me likey! Can't do #5, not grown up enough yet for this flirty number, or have not tried the concentration I adore (last time I checked I was simply lost at how many different options they got!), although I know someone wearing it every day, rain or shine. Still have not had a chance to try Gardenia as suggested by Miss R. last summer.
Ylang and sandalwood, long-lasting and pure, can't get enough of them today.

Oh as a young Basenoter lo these 90 days a member I have been a lonely boy unable to join in on an SSD. First the men of the tribe for the day of St. Patrick synchronized around Gucci Envy and Green Irish Tweed. Alas, I was but a scent child and did not yet own these scents. Then the men of the tribe chose Bandit six weeks later but still I was just a tenderfoot unable to join the tribe in synchronization. But now today has dawned bright and the tribe has chosen Chanel and I no longer am the boy left on the sidelines wanting to be part of the tribe. I am now a Basenoter grown and able to be part of the greater whole as I wear:
Also Happy Birthday to Schachman!!!!!

Happy birthday dear Schachman, and congrats on your 1000th post!
May all your moves be winning ones today.
For Chanel Scent Scynchronization Day, I'm in 31 Rue Cambon. Glorious irises and pepper, a few more not-too-sweet flowers and more. This has been described as a chypre with no oakmoss, and I agree. Beautiful. Oh dear, another addition to the wish list...
Tonight I'll probably join the "bwah (ha ha) dez eels" wearers...
