Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... A happy birthday to you, Doc!!

Today I am sampling the gorgeous Bois De Violette by Serge Lutens. A beautful sweet violet scent, but the cedre keeps it from being too sweet, and provides a lovely warm woodsiness. It feels fresh, fun and there's something here that reminds me of fizzy drink. I'm simply loving it!

    Top notes: Sage, Lavender, Bergamot
Heart notes: Iris, Cacao, Amber, Cardamom
Base Notes: Haitian Vetiver, Indonesian Patchouli, Leather
Iris: powdery; lavender: herbal-floral; cacao and amber: sweet. But also, sage: green; bergamot: green-citrus; cardamom: spicy; vetiver and patchouli: woody; and leather.
There is a lot of balance for the powdery, sweet, and floral notes. This broke through the avoidance of iris in mainstream men's scents. Do you think that's a good or a bad thing?
    Happy Birthday, docluv!

Happy Birthday Docluv (and belated birthday wishes to CoL!)

I had a date with this girl I've been seeing and I wore Terre D'Hermes. She was pretty crazy about it.

Later, today I'm going to wear CdG/Monocle Hinoki again.

Kbe's raindance had actually an effect, but in the wrong place....it's been raining for two days over here

I am wearing Etat Libre d'Orange

    Divin'Enfant

for the second day in a row. A mostly forgotten scent in this line, it starts out rather gourmand with orange blossom flavoured spun sugar, but the drydown is naughty, filled with sweet leather and animalic musk. It has also gotten DH's seal of approval.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DOCLUV45!
