I'm so excited by the amount of people joining in with wearing L de Lolita Lempicka! Let's have another sweet and gourmandy day!

No surprises as to MY SotD: L de Lolita Lempicka of course! Still absolutely loving it on this wet and miserable day. I'm all rugged up indoors with my big pink polarfleece jacket and this comforting scent. Mmm-mmm!

Poivre Samarcande's subtlety belies its complexity. I find it both relaxing and stimulating. Quiet and mysterious, I feel as if it's whispering different things to me as I wear it. If I could touch it, I would expect to feel freshly sanded cedar, dried peppers, and silky warm skin.

Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. I'm wearing Opium edt on my right arm. It is as luscious as ever, absolutely stunning.

On my left arm is Paris edt, one I hardly ever wear and often imagine I don't like. I have never thought this to be my type of frag, but I must say it has never smelled so lovely as it does tonight. It is a quite beautiful rose/violet with the right touch of powder. I am amazed and delighted.

I wish I had an old bottle of Rive Gauche - I wore it through the 1980s and it was probably the one that started my perfume journey, though for some years between then and now I hardly wore any at all. Still, it is an icon for me, and a great frag in its original formulation. I'm a bit afraid to try it now, but all day today I've been longing for it.

The all-too-brief newsreels of those fabulous clothes reminds me of this YSL quote which has appeared in some obits today -
