Thread: Today I Bought... (JUNE Edition)
Yesterday I bought BRONZE GODDESS by Estée Lauder, but being as it will be paid for tomorrow when my pay clears, its my first June purchase!
I've decided THIS is what I want to smell of whilst soaking up the rays this summer!

"Until you practice surrender, the spiritual dimension is something you read about, talk about, get excited about, write books about, think about, believe in — or don’t, as the case may be. It makes no difference. Not until you surrender does it become a living reality in your life."
-- Eckhart Tolle
Same here - bought two scents yesterday night as the mall closed - one for me and one for the wife. She loves Diorissimo, and hadn't had it in years. I got L'Eau Par Kenzo because of good things I'd seen people say here on BN, as well as Rawk Lee's picture of the bottle under the "beautiful bottle thread". It's my second Kenzo, after Tokyo. L'Eau is a nice marine, lighter than my Bulgari Aqua, which is a bit strong sometimes.
Helmut Lang - Cuiron (Thanks Taolady!)
Chemisty by Clinique. Ordered from a fellow BN'er.
Azzaro Pour Homme
Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche.
After reading some reviews my curiosty got the best of me. Bought it blind. No regrets.
I received my 100 ml. bottle of Patricia de Nicolaï New York today. I had to stop by work to pick it up, as it arrived last week while I was out of town, and I am still on vacation. This is even better than I had been led to believe. It's definitely worth the five stars that Turin gave it in The Guide!

I bought some samples from Neil Morris a couple days ago, and they arrived today. I have to say I'm a little disappointed in comparison to the "Florals for Men" series (which is awesome). I'll give more impressions later once I've worn them a few times.

Yesterday I bought, a 100ml bottle of Cartier Essence de Declaration. I've had this on sample for a while and absolutely love it, so I've committed and am looking forward to smelling delightfully sweet and dirty - which is what I love
I will be buying this week:
a) Le Dandy by D'Orsay. I've tried this a couple of times from Selfridges (one of the few places in the UK you can get this) and have fallen in love with this exquisite fragrance. It is nectar, to be supped by the olfactory lobes of the truly blessed.
b) Oh-bloody-wow. I've noted other Basenoters talk in passing about Alexander McQueen's Kingdom. By the descriptions of it, I figured I might like it... so I tried it in the Garden Pharmacy in Covent Garden today and it blew me to heaven and back. What a fragrance! Cumin, rose, musky darkness cloked in sweetness. I had woman smell me this evening almost purring her delight at how I smelled - and this despite her admitting that she used to wear it and didn't like it. "It didn't smell like THAT when I wore it," she demurred. I do like sweet and animalic I guess...
The upshot is I am also buying that this week.

On Monday night, in honor of YSL's passing, and in the spirit of the YSL SSD, I purchased the Limited Edition of YSL L'Homme. There are a couple of nicer pictures over on the memorial thread. But I thought this picture, showing the bottle detached from the base/cap, was very interesting.

Allure Homme Edition Blanche, 50 ml
I love cologne.
Préparation Parfumée - Andrée Putman, created by Olivia Giacobetti, ordered online from Beauty Habit.
Yesterday, I bought Himalaya (Creed). This was the only one, which was missing in my Creed Collection. (This is my Collection: Silver Mountain Water, M. Imperial, Original Vetiver, Original Santal, Erolfa, Green Irish Tweed, Virgin Island Water and now Himalaya) + a little sprayer with Bois du Portugal...these are my favorites from Creed Millésime...the rest is not so my taste (without the EDTs...there some good stuff, too).
Have a bottle of Giorgio BH for men en route, and yesterday pulled the trigger on a bottle of PdN Baladin. I think there's an older bottle of Yatagan en route to me as well. At least I hope it's older.
A 4 oz bottle of Carriere, another bottle of Au the Rouge, and two bottles of the following:
Domenico Caraceni 1913
Parfums de Nicolai - New York
Idole - Lubin
Parfum d'Empire - Fougere Bengale
From Luckyscent, Les Nereides Imperial Opoponax
Bought a 15mL mini of Cool water at Marshalls yesterday to see what the fuss was all about. I remembered smelling it before and didn't give it a chance, but after the top recedes and it becomes a bit softer, I cannot think of anything that is more classic in the clean category. It reminds me of my dad.
I justified this purchase because I share my last name with the designer.
Looking for samples of: Antidote, L'anarchist, AdP Colonia, Narcisco Rodriguez for Him, Encre Noir, CdG 2man, Habit Rouge, Hanoi Mori, C&S No. 88, Domenico Caraceni 1913. Send me a PM, we'll talk of the details.
Strictly speaking I got this through a swap, but then again I bought Havana to swap brand new
A*men - Thierry Mugler...welcome back to an all-time favourite!
On its way is Santos Concentree - Cartier...another swap
