Default pick one creed for warm and one for colder

    hey all

i am really struggling to pick from a batch of creed samples for a full purchase, I want to narrow it down to two of them.

My question is if you guys had to pick just two, one to cover the warmer months say late spring to early fall, and then one to cover full blown fall winter type weather, btw im from the midwest. What would you go with so far here are the two groups i will pick from but i could easily be swayed they are mostly all awesome. Btw if you think i should be putting it more in terms of say night formal use vs day casual type use instead of time of year im all ears. For example clearly Bdp is more for evening wear but maybe its suitable throughout the year in that role????

for warmer, im either thinking MI or SMW -----although i love VIW i think its just too limited
----from these two which have you seen get better public reaction etc from females

and for the cooler months i am really torn, ----------- BdP, Him, and acier aluminum are all looking pretty nice, but for some reason i like bdp, acier was very striking to me but i also get that kinda sleazy 70 porn star vibe from it, which has its place

any help, here are the others i have tested in case you think i should revisit them for either of the above category.

I am basically splitting it this way so i can cover some ground for diff occasions, i know GIT etc can be used for practically anything but im not looking so much universal but just two totally diff uses and yet not be super specific like say a funeral or something lol.

    heres the list,

    GIT
    SMW
    MI
    BdP
    VIW
    Him
    Erolf
    OV
    Tab mill , not vintage
    acier

    please help!!!!!!!

if you could post with poll you'll see more accurate results....just my two cents....

The ones you listed all feel like summer scents, except for BdP.
I really like the under appreciated Tabaróme Millésime for its magical opening accord of tobacco and ginger; bracing, nose tingling and unique. If only that accord lasted longer.
My other choice from your list is Original Vetiver, while I prefer the much more fun Mugler Cologne, OV is an uplifting summertime fragrance.

You can't go wrong with either MI or SMW...trust me. SMW was my first, and I'm happy with it. Some people would tell you SMW because of Unforgivable, but I don't think they smell that similar, and MI would be a very smart, versatile choice. That's funny that you want a colder weather Creed...Kinda makes you realize that they don't have that many cold weather scents. I think Himalaya could do the trick there, as I think BdP is a bit, ahem, "older."

You haven't really mentioned what types of frags you like, so based on what I would choose:

Warmer weather - Millesime Imperial is complement city and is great for daytime use. Plus, if you get 2007 stock or older, you'll have the gold bottle, which is amazing. I haven't tried SMW.

Colder weather - Himalaya is very warm and soothing (although I prefer it for fall and not necessarily winter). And you can't go wrong with a silver bottle next to a gold bottle. Bois Du Portugal smells a little macho-old-man to me - very woodsy and musky, and I tend to shy away from most of those.

it seems like although a great scent many people associate bdp with "old man" although i like it very much i also have a few frags that get comments like that and i really can't stand having to explain myself for people who grew up with having cool water or ck1 only.

Between himalaya and acier what do you think the pros or cons are as far as usage or quality in general are???

Himalaya is quite possibly my favorite Creed scent, and likely my favorite scent of all time. It's, for lack of a better word: round. Very smooth and comforting, it's a decidedly masculine scent but without the overly musky or woodsy drydown. Those elements are there, but are never overpowering. It's good for all weather but really seems to shine in warm-not-hot weather (Fall in NYC). The scent really changes according to the climate. The quality is top-notch, and the sillage and longevity are amazing (on me, of course). Your mileage may vary, but I get between 10-15 hours out of it easily, the first 6 or 7 of which have great sillage. You can wear it formally or casually, daytime or night. You also don't get that "Hi! I am 99% alcohol!" thing when you first spray it on your skin. Or at least I don't.

    I haven't smelled Acier, so I can't comment.

    Himalaya/Erolfa - warm

    Original Santal - Cold

GIT/SMW in between weather, but decent enough all rounders.

Tabarome Millesime - I haven't got a clue when to wear it.

Royal Water - when you want cats to come up and start licking you.

I bought today Himalaya and it works perfect for a hot summer day (or for work "office").
It starts fresh and cold and becomes warm and smooth. It last nearly the whole day. Now my 8th bottle from the house of Creed. It tooks me 3 year testing Himalaya...I was not sure, but for now...it is one of my favorites (from Creed).

Himalaya is excellent. The scent can vary quite a bit bottle to bottle...but it's still very nice. Probably my favorite Creed. Can be a year around scent, but best in heat.

    All-time fave: GIT

    Current faves: SMW and HIM

If you like BdP but consider it too oldmanlike I think you should give vanisia a try. It's considered to be for women but I like to wear it occasionally. vanilla, rose, sandalwood and musk.
