Chergui by Serge Lutens
I had a sample of this scent but it was misslabled and now I don't know what it was. The liquid is possibly pale pink but the scent is deep and very difficult to break into notes.
I guess it could be used by men and women alike. I suspect it comes from one of the bigger houses such as Guerlain but don't know for sure. Thanks.
Another wonderful scent based on wine is Malbec, by O Boticario.
Thanks, I'll try them as soon as I can.
It's almost certainly not the mystery scent you smelled, but if you want to wear dessert wine, you could do much worse than Ginestet Botrytis.
I read the reviews and my sample definitely didn't have any smokey notes. It was very coherent, not too sweet, balanced, similar to a good Rose scent but smelled more like Cherry with maybe a hint of vanilla. It was really hard to break into notes but as a total package, it is fruity like a good new world Shiraz/Syrah (minus the wood/smoke).
