the best gourmand, without a doubt, is Sucre d'ebene

I have New haarlem, TV, rochas man, Dior homme intense and dior homme, Pure malt, HM, ambre narguile and so on.

By far, THE SUPREME gourmand, and the best ever is Sucre d'ebene

Casran is awful. Get L'Instant or Hanae Mori.

i repeat. If you are looking for a SWEET(sugar, caramel, burnt sugar, etc) GOURMAND.

the only one is sucre d'ebene.

is burnt sugar, with woods, class, dark, sweet, elegant.

new haarlem is not as sweet gourmand, is different kind of thing (ROCHAS MEN has the same problem)

HM edp or edt is nothing what you are looking for.

L'instant is a very good fragance, but is not a sweet gourmand fragance at all.

SUCRE D'EBENE is the REAL sweet gourmand fragance, and also is elegant and what all are looking for. The real burnt sugar gourmand note

I don't like gourmands, but I have to admit that Ambre Narguile is my favorite.

I usually find the combination of musk and food notes kind of gross, and leaves me feeling like I smothered sweets or pastry on myself and then sweated a whole bunch.

Ambre Narguile, on the other hand, is the perfect blend of sweetness and never feels sticky or dirty. Super classy, super comfy, great quality, and lasts forever too.

Ambre Precieux is extremely sweet and gourmandish
Sushi Imperiale reminds me of apple pie...very nice
Halston Man Amber is a very nice gourmandish frag under the radar
New Haarlem is errible on my skin...smells like Pierre Cardin which I detest.
I was born to shoot guns and smell good doin it!

Totally agree. It seems I reach for B9NH more often so I gave it the slight edge. But Ambre Narguile is everything you said.

No one has mentioned Traversee du Bosphore by L'Artisan, described on the site as "pour lui." ("For him.") Personally, I think fragrance is unisex.

This is a wonderful leather gourmand.

The site says the main notes are leather, iris and Turkish delight. From the Web site: "This vision opens with apples, tulips and just a hint of spices. The creamy iris is worked in contrast with a tobacco note. A delicate waft of rose and pistachio recalls the suave aroma of Turkish delight. Then an unexpected burst of warm and animalic leather, that scorches the air around the tanneries, takes us as the musk embraces us."

I don't like my gourmands too edible, I'd say I would prefer borderline gourmands.

    LIDGE
    TV
    Ambre Narguile
    Eau Noire
    Sables

From these I would only call Ambre Narguile with its apple pie vibe a true gourmand. So, my vote goes to AN, not meaning that I love the other mentions less. When it's cold outside, I'm in a bad mood and I need some candy, I spray just a few droplets of AN on my wrist and that strangely comforts me. The tobacco notes prevent it from getting too foody and cloying despite the extreme sweetness.

Btw, just waiting for my blind bought decant of New Haarlem. Thought that I should like it if I love Sables, Eau Noire and also Amen. Can't wait to smell it...

I like Rochas Man. Also 1 Million pleases me.

Edit: If DHI is counted as gourmand, then it goes before those mentioned.

I agree on all of the above, I wore Givenchy Pi after a long time a couple weeks ago, forgot how nice it was. I think Rochas Man also belongs to this list as does New Haarlem.

There are several great masculine gourmands, but of all, the first I would reach for is Christian Dior Eau Noire. Maple syrup over smokey dark woods. Really gorgeous stuff and not crass or obvious the way some sweet gourmands can be.

I have A*Men and JPG Le Male, which are both terrific but are less elegant and subdued in their execution. Great for parties and clubs, but a bit heavy handed for every day use.

In the bargain bin, you might want to check out Michael Jordan Legend which has been favorably compared to New Haarlem and Rochas Man. $12.99/100ml at your local Ross and a really elegant coffee/choco/vanilla over new leather and woods.
