I'd like to nominate a thread thought out and started by my Dragonfriend Riannon, which was a great event at that date - the fabulous Lutens week:

Seven days of feasting on Lutens: http://www.community.basenotes.net/s...d.php?t=191397

Yeees! I second the nomination for Twolf's teasers and also for P-bird's Note Identification project (have to catch up on that one).

It's like watching a reality TV show, but not scripted, and so much more informative!

Thank you my dear Lady, but we really did that week together. Our thread! Where would I have been without you.

I just read every post again and those contributions of Rtamara are certainly providing insight and dedication

If someone hasn't already nominated it, I nominate Purplebird's Note Identification Thread:

    http://community.basenotes.net/showthread.php?t=210096

And if someone *has* already, then I second the nomination.

I'd like to second Quarry's What Have You Learned Thread, particularly for Purplebird's May 7th post that begins with the words, "Never say never." It is very sage advice that can be applied to many things in life, and is something I've gone back and read several times to hopefully permanently impress these wise words upon my stubborn, occasionally foolish brain. In fact, if you'll indulge me, I'll just paste verbatim:

Never say never. (I cannot wear...)
Never say always. (My favorite is...)
Learn to let go. (Reformulation. Discontinuation.)
Hoarding is a form of paranoia. (See previous.)
There will always be something else. (See two previous.)
Friends make everything better. (Basenotes. I am not alone in this.)
Natural extracts smell way different from synthetics. (Both are necessary.)
Eddie: Sweetie, what are you drinking?
Patsy: Oh, this? Chanel No. 5.

Thanks Oud Girl. Lord knows I try.
And I appreciated this bit of wisdom from Quarry:
"The personal processing of scent--taking in, examining, contemplating--is a journey I never imagined or would have respected, until it happened to me. And now I understand that even when my study or growth seems to have stalled, the subconscious and the marketplace and others' artistic invention continue to move forward, so we need never fear the end of stimulus or the arrival of boredom. Man ... that got heavy real fast. What's in this coffee, and can I have another cup?"
