Happy to be starting the SoTD thread after a long time

Good morning. I feel much better today - thanks for the good vibes!

    I am wearing Keiko Mecheri's

    Loukhoum

My opinion is unchanged...it performs better in summer

Thank you everyone, for your kindness and wise words yesterday! *kiss* You are all absolutely right, in that academic marks do not necessarily judge the worth of your work. As I always have, I will continue to do what I love, experiment, and continue working hard! Can't be helped if someone who is marking my work has different tastes to me. Thank you again! You all put a smile on my face.

Wearing the yummy L de Lolita Lempicka with Bloom Vanilla Bean body butter. I haven't worn this in awhile, and had forgotten how lovely and comforting this scent is. Perfect for a visit to the dentist, even though I wasn't particularly nervous about it! I have to go back in a week to get a plate for when I sleep - because I grind my teeth. Oops

Cuir de Lancome. You know how you smell a fragrance for the first time, flash a scenario in association, and the two are forever bound? Can't explain why, but CdL makes me feel like being a puddy-tat curled up on the lap of a lady with dimples. I just want to close my eyes and purrrr while the nice-smelling lady pets my head. Testing out Bandit on one hand and KM Loukhoum on the other. I found a secret stash of samples last night and I don't think I can resist them today: it's a sampling kind of day. So far (1 hr) loving my Bandit sample. Now wishing I hadn't swapped my bottle a few years back! I wore Jolie Madame yesterday, and they're evidently made by the same perfumer (didn't know that until this morning BEFORE I sampled Bandit so I'm definitely following a train of thought here.) Leather in the summer? What am I thinking?!

It also seems that nothing can replace my SL Loukhoum. Shame because KM is significantly more available and seems to have better sillage.

Thank you for the super kind offer! I've actually tried it with all the Montale sampling I've been doing, and found it to leave too much of a honey and amber trail for my liking. It may just be my skin. I just wish my SL Loukhoum lasted longer, or had more sillage, or was more available other than by decant in the states. I really love it from start to finish, which is way too fleeting, so I end up using too much, too often, and my bell jar is now whining.

[Update on my Bandit--KM Loukhoum--Habanita experiment: Nothing's working on my skin after 4 hours. Such a shame since the first 2 hours of Bandit and Habanita were so lovely. Everything turns to an acidic amber. I think I just COOK these kinds of scents. Fortunately, I've found Black Aoud and it doesn't do that on me.]

Hope all are having a great day!

Trying out Frederic Malle's UNE ROSE today. This one truly wowed me! It has a very natural beauty that I find intensely appealing. Can't wait to try it again in cooler weather, and predict that I won't be able to resist a full bottle.

Love the wedding photos, rtamara41. Congrats!

Today I bought a car. As I got ready to drive to the dealership and negotiate the sale (uggghh!!), I stopped to wonder which scent I should wear to fit the occasion of "haggling" with the sales rep and then "the closer" who would swoop in at the last minute and try to destruct the whole deal I'd carefully arranged with the "inexperienced sales associate - who should never have agreed to that low offer!". What to wear, what to wear? Nothing too sexy, nothing too feminine, nothing off-puttingly strong...hmmmm. In a moment of inspiration, I grabbed my Kelly Caleche, sprayed, and felt the diffused veil of mimosa (for serenity and resolve) and fine leather (suggesting the comfort of a luxurious car interior and the powerful force of a racing stallion with saddle)..
With an aura of confidence I smoothly glided into the dealership, got down to brass tacks with the SA, stood strong when the closer came and laid down the law, and as gracefully forceful, and resolute as I could possibly be, met them halfway, and........ ended paying more than I wanted to. Aaarrgghh! Well, at least I smelled successful. (I think it was still a good deal!)

Today was a layered scent day, sort of. First I sprayed Comme des Garcons Series 4: Anbar. It was nice, with top notes that were reminiscent of pettigrain. But then after a few minutes, I changed my mind about it, and oversprayed with my final SotD:

    Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic

There were no conflicts, and the MB nearly eclipsed the CDG. I'd say it was not a bad layering combo, but the MB definitely has the edge for longevity.

SotE (so far) is: Les Nereides Patchouli Antique. So far so good, but if it gives me a sore throat (like some woody patchouli scents do), then it will be scrub time.
