Default Sira des Indes Body Lotion - do I need it?

I have just returned from a trip round our local TKMaxx, where I spotted a tube
of Jean Patou's Sira Des Indes body lotion for £7.99. Do I need it?
I resisted, but now I'm not so sure. Does anyone know and love this?
I don't own the perfume by the way.

Are you able to test the lotion? See from your wardrobe that you haven´t tested the perfume. I had a decant of it, and didn´t like it. There was an opp-putting note of ripe bananas in it, that I didn´t like, and that´s about all I remember of it.
Maybe the lotion is good, though, but I would rather go for a lotion to match a frag I already own.

    Heck! - buy it!

I didn't like Sira des Indes either, it wasn't the banana that bothered me but a spice in the midnotes that reminded me of stale breath I got the same thing from Youth Dew Amber Nude.

Every time I remember to wear Sira, I enjoy it, and yet I have a fear of the banana note that always turns out to be unjustified. I have the lotion, and as I recall the banana/pear notes were more pronounced. The frag itself is muskier on me than the lotion. I'd buy the lotion again, though, at discount.

Thanks for your replies. I did try it in the shop (very naughty I know!) and
wasn't that impressed. I decided I needed other things more in the end.

I don't think I'd like a banana note in a perfume, but that sort of makes me want to try it more. I suppose it's a love or loathe thing. Tao loves Sira, so I always think I should give it a go. When I eventually stumble across a tester in a shop I'll try it.

I have a bottle of the EDP, and it's the most difficult one to love in my wardrobe. If I can get past the first half hour, the rest of the drydown is very nice. It's not the banana note that is off-putting, but to me, there's something too-harsh in the top notes.
