Thread: How many bottles do you own?
I currently have 22 bottles.
I currently have 38 bottles
I don't know whether I should be proud, embarrassed, ashamed, or shocked. But my collection now stands at 426
45 right now
Current Top 5
1. Creed Aventus
2. A*Men Pure Malt
3. L'instant Extreme
4. Nasomatto Duro
5. CDG - Kyoto
I own 20, but I think more than a certain number of bottles, you are becoming too obsessed and impulsive..I am fighting against that..
Somewhere around 120 bottles...and that's after gleaning, I always give castoffs to my brother-in-law.
Snarky is as snarky does.
Somewhere between 20 and 30, it's been a while since I counted and I'm on vacation now
I am at 33, but I should really pare down my collection. Ideally, I should have only the fragrances I absolutely love to wear.
Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard are sweeter. (Keats)
I have about 55 or 60 ..
I will be parting with about 5 or 6 of those soon .
I recently welcomed Moods & Quorum Silver to my collection & I showed Hugo Boss & Trussardi the door .
Somewhere in the 60-70 range (due to my decanting adventures)
41 'an countin'...
- A spritz of Caron may be quite continental, but (a flacon of) Guerlain is a perfumisto's best friend...
33 and holding.
Catherine Deneuve: "You should put scent where you like to be kissed."
I have one bottle
And if you guess which one it is, I may have a gift for you
Have a nice day
Between 30 to 40, not sure exactly. That seems to be my sweet spot. I have about 8 up for sale right now.
I currently own 15 bottles in my wardrobe. I smelt them all, last night, and still love them all (equally) to bits. I also have another 3-4 floating around either unwanted or solely for the office. I may raise my wardrobe limit to 20 one day but, for now, I'm pretty content.
140-145...owned 10 in december 2007.
thanks Basenotes. =*(
CDG 3 (The one you CAN'T find anywhere) for trade.

A few too many yet not enough!
I have 1 bottle. Hanging around here is obviously dangerous and it won't be long before #2
145… at the moment… and… I want MORE!!!
“As if everyone, all over the world, had his daily visually artistic task; the task of being an image for others.” Peter Handke
44...and I am not giving any up!
i have 18 bottles...till last month i had been a part-time working student
but im sure my collection will be enlarged after i find a "real job.":-)
Well, and in my opinion, i think it is better if a man have 426 fragrance bottles, as Noggs, than if he doesnt
use a fragrance at all. Im from the Czech Republic and there are lots of Czech men who do not use even a deodorant. I think it is cool if a man likes fragrances, have many of them and first of all uses a fragrance every day.
28. I might be picking up some back-ups and original releases soon though, so the number will increase.
I'm somewhere in the mid-200s. I clicked the button choosing the lower half but if that's right I'm still close to the upper half.
That girl, that bottle, that mattress and me.
I know it's over 80, but not sure exactly, haven't counted in a while, I don't have many decants, and have some minis, but I didn't include those
41 at the moment.. I do want to round it off to 25
.................................................. ...................I'm gonna memorize your name.. and then i'm gonna throw my head away!!........:bounce:.............
I received a couple of bottles in the mail today that put me over the 200 mark.

I'm just starting my collection got 12 so far, ordered & recieved PI by Givenchy a few days ago next on the list is caron pour un homme. Thanks to this lovely site I found many new scents I have never seen or heard of, so my collection will be growing month by month.
I've got about 88 bottles and tried samples of over 450 different fragrances.
Currently have 147 bottles in my collection. I like to periodically offer for sale about one third of my collection on the MarketPlace for sale board - in order to reduce my extravagence down to those items I consider active and that I might use. Also, having room for everything is a consideration. I've sold over 70 bottles to other basenoters this year! Is this hobby/obsession getting out of hand?
I only have 11 bottles that are 30 ml or more. I just found out yesterday that friend of mine has 60! 'Had no clue he was into scents. I always thought he wore the same thing every day.

Around 380 names of modern stuff (niche, mainstream, mass) and about 30-40 names of vintage.
I mean - some scents I have in two bottles.
Vetiver The Great!!!
i own about 10 or something like that? haven't counted....i don't want more than 15 bottles ever....mainly because of storage space (NYC apartments don't have alot of that!)
WHO in the world owns more 500? i'm assuming that's a joke.....or is it?
According to my wardrobe (which is more or less up to date), I own 50 bottles. This includes full bottles and minis--no decants or samples.
Total votes 141??
Is that representative for active Basenotes posters all over the world??
Or are these the few who (from the northern heisphere) are not on summer holidays ??
Between 1 bottle and 500 hundred - what surprises me is how owners are so evenly spread.
I honestly don't know any more how many I own - roughly 100 plus/minus 20, I guess. (I stopped actualizing my wardrobe, when that went down). I am ashamed of any number beyond 50. Are they really that great to cling to them? Trouble is - I hate anything to do with post and customs offices. On the other hand I can't get me to dump perfumes in the garbage bag either. I just stopped counting the ones I do not care for any longer.

'Il mondo dei profumi è un universo senza limiti: una fraganza puo rievocare sensazioni, luoghi, persone o ancora condurre in uno spazio di nuove dimensioni emozionali' L. V.
I'm in the 60-70 bracket at the moment, the reason being is that I am currently selling a few on Ebay which I either don't like that much or I bought cheap with the intention of selling. I am currently weeding out stuff I don't really wear that much or can do without.
But I also have new stuff in coming and so once I have pared down to the stuff I really like, I expect I will be moving towards the next bracket up with great velocity.
In a world where people smell bad, it is the personal responsibility of every Basenoter to improve the world one SotD at a time...
Currently 141. It's still not enough though, there are hundreds on my wishlist/to test list. Most of my collection are good but there are a few blind buys i regret.

I've said 5; I currently have Hanae Mori and M7 and I've ordered bottles of Guerlain Heritage, Terre d'Hermes and Bulgari Aqua. I started buying samples a month ago and Ive got lots more I want to sample. I'd really like to buy a bottle of Dominico Carceni 1913 as well...
I think I have about 25-30, counting back-up bottles. I also counted a handful of .5oz bottles that tend to last a long time anyway due to rotation & that I have a pretty light spritzing hand.

My last purchase - Montale Aoud Shiny, made 884.

Deep in the dark your kiss will thrill me
Like days of old. Lighting the spark of love that fills me
with dreams untold..--Twilight Time
last i counted a week back was 56 including opened and BNIB, backups and singles. But since joining this site, ive been getting at least a bottle a week, so i reckon i;ll hit the century mark by year end.
36 in about two years
"You smell kinda pretty! Wanna Smell me ?"
- Johnny Bravo
I've gone from zero to 16 in less than 2 months (all blind buys). I wish I felt like I could stop sometime soon. Thanks basenotes.
I own 9 at the moment with 1 on the way. I have at least another 7 or 8 that I have on my "to buy" list that I plan on purchasing in the next couple of months.

I have a small batch that floats around the 10-12 bottle range. When one is depleted, it will be replaced with the same or possibly another carefully tested selection.........
Got carried away some time back and, as a result, accumulated over 70 bottles, most of which saw more dust than action...... Not carefully thought out purchases most of them........
A personal preference obviously, but streamlining was and has been the best course of action...........
more than 60 less than 100, almost all purchased within the last year..... sometimes I wonder if it's a bit silly, seeing as though at most I'd wear each every 2-3 months (assuming I rotate, which I don't).
Then I remember that this is a hobby, like any other - there are many facets to the hobby. Of course there is the enjoyment of fragrance and seeking to discover new ones. There is also the 'collectible' aspect of the hobby - seeking out rarities, oddities, new, or strange fragrances for the sake of seeking them out. One can be a completest - collecting everything in a line, or from a house. Some seek out bottles - vintage and/or unique.
Though I sometimes feel odd that the fragrance I've been looking for and just spent a bundle on is now sitting on a shelf with 50 others (and now, onto the next challenge), it's all part of the fun.
I just broke 1000 and now have 1001, but I suspect that I started long before most Basenoters. I note that I only buy 3.4 or 4.2 oz. sizes unless only smaller ones are made. I have another 50 of the same ilk in reserve for out of production stuff. I have about a three year rotation to get through them all. I have few other illnesses.
