    Default Best/Favourite Male Fragrance

    Hi,

New to this site but will be using it a lot now that I've found it!

Interested to hear opinions regarding what people think is the best (and/or their favourite) male fragrance - if you could have only one male fragrance, what would it be?

    - A spritz of Caron may be quite continental, but (a flacon of) Guerlain is a perfumisto's best friend...

I'll give you my top two. It's a close call between Dior's Eau Sauvage and Guerlain Vetiver.

The best would be Eau Sauvage. The favorite would be Hammam Bouquet. The one I wear most frequently is Extra Vieille (Jean Marie Farina).

I would have to agree with one of these two as well ! Great all around especially at this time of year. For the cooler Days Creed MI or Bulgari PH.

I, and most other basenoters, simply would not be able to tell you. There are so many great fragrances, and so many great niche houses that all have their own signature fragrance styles, that you can appreciate so many different fragrances in different ways.

I'm torn between Dior Homme, L'Egoiste and Fahrenheit 32

And I don't think I could live without my Yardley English Lavender (I just got a 125ml bottle - just in case!)

Bvlgari pour Homme ....versatile and does not come across as too perfumey . I find that after a few months I get tired of a fragrance, but his one has been in use for 3 years. Now , if I had to wear it everyday, I'm sure I'd get tired of it sooner or later.

Being discontinued put a crimp into Cuiron's production schedule!

My favorite male fragrance is Giorgio for Men, which I don't think will surprise anyone.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost

    Talking Re: Best/Favourite Male Fragrance

Having originally started this thread, unsure myself of what I would regard as my favourite fragrance, the replies highlighting Havana by Aramis have brought back memories of a fantastic scent that I must confess, I has actually forgotten.

Does anyone know where this can be obtained, as I can not seem to find it in any online shops?

This is actually for Havana Reserva... It's a little different from regular Havana, but honestly it's 95% the same juice... I happen to like it better than the original...

I can't imagine just one. I guess some top picks might be:

Derby, Antaeus, Ungaro III, Yatagan, Carven Homme, Chanel Pour Monsieur, New York, Heritage, Eau Savage, Dior Homme, Habit Rouge, Maxim's pour Homme, Cuir de Russie, Mitsouko, Concentrée D'Orange Verte, Mouchoir de Monsieur, Caron Third Man, Opium pour Homme EDP, Jicky, Caron pour un Homme, M7, Patou pour Homme (and Prive), Egoiste.

    Welcome to basenotes!

    Good taste Richard d!

I love Yatagan. I remember first trying it with such trepidation due to its reputation, only to find a very beautiful fragrance that I find extremely wearable.
