Default Forget Bond--what would John Steed have worn?

What scent would the iconic Avenger have worn? Not the Old Etonian-turned-actor Patrick MacNee, although it might in fact be the same, but Steed himself, that bowler-wearing, brolly swinging super hero? Steed was meant to harken back to an earlier age, through the choice of his cars, clothes, flat, etc., and yet this quintessential Englishman was living right in the midst of the swinging sixties. A sharp contrast to the cool modernity of Mrs. Gail, Emma Peel and Tara King, Steed none-the-less had his classic "English" clothing designed by cutting edge young French designer Pierre Cardin. So.... what would he have worn? Something truly Edwardian like Hamman Bouquet? Something from Floris or Trumpers? Did his penchant for women in kinky leather boots lead him to Cuir de Russie or Knize Ten? Guerlain? Hermes? Rien? Thoughts?

I'd settle for knowing what Patrick MacNee wore then. Anyone have his email? Maybe he could also tell us what Emma Peel wore.

Well, according to Perfume Shrine, Diana Rigg wears Vol de Nuit and Fracas (good taste) and as Mrs. James Bond she wore Guerlain's Ode. I think that Emma would have worn something ladylike yet naughty like Jolie Madame (leather) or Bal a Versailles (civet). Or something hip and swinging like mary Quant or Pucci....

I vote for Mary Quant Havoc for Emma Peel.

Creed would have made him a signature scent.

I think it would have been something like Dunhill Edition or Truefitt & Hill's Grafton. As James Bond used Floris No.89, perhaps John Steed would have gone for C&S No.88.

I can't imagine Steed having anything other than a collection of Trumper scents which he used in rotation.

I think Steed would have worn Habit Rouge.
