Default Do you have a Lancome fragrance fave?

Of 'department store' frags, there are a multitude of Estee Lauders that we all pick and choose from on occassion...do any of you enjoy Lancome fragrance? I personally have loved Mille Et Une Roses and Tresor. Hypnose is a cool feminine vetiver too.

I like Trésor edp very much. I have a bottle and wear it occasionally. I thought I was one of the few people who liked Hypnôse when it came out, but I never purchased a bottle. I recently spritzed O de Lancôme in passing, and I thought it was very nice. Years ago, I rather liked Magie Noire. I don't know whether it's been reformulated. I would imagine so. I don't know all of them. I wouldn't mind sniffing some of the classics that were brought back, and the new one Peut Etre. Didn't much care for Miracle. Poême was not for me.

Hypnose was one of the very few scents I loved right away from first spray and is the only Lancome in my wardrobe. Tried it in the store walked out then walked straight back in again to buy! Not a complicated scent but a very satisfying one. Magie Noir is a fabulous perfume but don't think I could ever wear it successfully, I'm not 'diva' enough!

I also was hooked by Hypnose. I first saw it in a magazine--and ad with a wax strip. I tore out that page, threw the magazine away, and kept the wax sample by my computer for months. Every day or so, I sniffed it and said, "mm, love it". Finally, when I went to the store to try it, it seemed so strong. At that time I bought the body lotion--perfect to control the amount of scent applied, and also great for wearing this frag in the winter. Later, I saw the EDP at TJMaxx, so I bought it! Still like it very much, although I do not wear it as often as I used to.

Others I have tried (but never bought):
O de Lancome--nice citrus/green, short lived, a bit of old-fashioned powdery iris in the drydown
Cuir de Lancome--clean leather with an artificial cinnamon note in the drydown
Tresor EDP (from lilybelle! )--lovely peachy floral which I would not mind wearing more often

Right now I feel I have so many bottles, I am having a hard time justifying a full bottle purchase of anything that doesn't knock my socks off. Tresor is the only other Lancome I've tried which can potentially do this, but I have a feeling it is a scent that will sneak up on me (like Hypnose did).

My initial response to the thread title was "Magie Noire", my first Lancôme, and then "Magie" the earlier (and now rereleased) floral aldehyde. I think both of these have a certain elegance and sophistication not found in the later fragrances. I also own Ô de Lancôme and Cuir de Lancôme, and these are wearable and nice enough, but not in the same category as the two "Magie's".

I also recently tested Miracle So Magic after reading a positive review of it in "Perfumes: The Guide" I thought it was interesting, and much better than Miracle, but not really me.

Magie Noir is fierce! I also like Miracle L'Aquatonic Homme, although it is getting difficult to find. Any women wearing that one?

I loved Lancome frags. I'm currently upset with Lancome for pulling my favorite summer time scent. I can't remember the name of it, but it was green and it smelled soooooo fresh. I think it was like a green tea type frag. There was also a purple one. I use to wear Magie Nior, Tresor, and Poem. I refuse to re-up on any of them until they bring the green stuff back.

I love O de Lancome - it's my idea of eau de cologne because it's the first version I got to know. Doesn't last long, but it's lovely and refreshing.

I tried Magie Noire a few weeks ago and boy is it powerful stuff! I am certainly not enough of a diva to carry it off, but I am in awe of anyone who can.

The one I have actually used is Miracle. I got a mini and some body lotion as part of a gift-with-purchase (I'm such a sucker for them!). I put them in my toilet bag for weekends/overnights away and I've used it up. It's nice.

And I have a massive lemming for a bottle of Cuir, thanks to the lovely Lady in Black who kindly sent me a sample ( what a darling!). Now I just have to a) save up and b) find out where on earth it's for sale in Switzerland!

I like both the men's and women's version of Hypnose. I need to give the Cuir de Lancome a try one of these days.

I may not use a lot of Lancome fragrance, but I adore their skin care and makeup!

I have a feeling I would love Cuir de Lnacome. The only Lancome frag I have purchased is Hypnose. I bought it for my Mom because I knew she would love it and I like smelling it on her. I always thought Tresor was nice but my best friends CRAZY mother in law wears it as her signature scent and it always reminds me of her.

I started wearing O de Lancome in the late '80s, when I was around 14 years old. I hated the big eighties scents that everyone wore too much of, and O is a great herbal/citrus cologne that smells nothing like, say Poison. I still wear it. It's weird that this seems to be marketed as a women's scent, though - it's totally unisex, to my nose.

Yeah, I think the green one was some sort of 'energizing tonic'...I don't see it around anymore either

My favourites are Tresor edp (a staple in my wardrobe) and Magie Noire, which my mom used to wear a lot and which I feel I may need to revisit.

That was Aromatonic! I can't believe I forgot - I love that one. I still have about 75% of a large bottle, but I was upset to find that it was discontinued. There was also Aromacalm (purple) and an orange one whose name escapes me.

I love O de Lancome, have it and wear it. It's a nice cool scent for Miami. I gave Hypnose to my best friend for her birthday last year because I thought it was really nice.

I'm glad you cleared that one up! I was going nuts after reading Divatologist's post - trying like heck to remember the exact name!!! I never owned it, but I vaguely remember trying it in the store. From what I remember it was quite nice.

Yeah, me too. I remember it being very distinctive back in the day, but I'm not sure it would be my style now. It would be fun to revisit it.

Oh, by the way, I tested the new Magnifique today at the Lancôme counter in passing through Macy's. It's nice - rose & saffron & woods. It was very likeable, but didn't seem to have much personality (compared with Magie Noire). That seems to be the style now, tame woods (like Sensuous). Anyway, I quite liked it. Not one I'll go out of my way for, but I'll probably give it another trial run.

I think maybe that the orange one was called Aromafit. I remember reading that it had carrot oil or something, and thinking it was weird. I think that the purple Aromacalm had lavendar, which is logical enough.

I do remember a sales associate telling me that the Aromatonic was a skin treatment of some sort, and that I should spray it liberally all over my body, but I knew enough to spot a crazy sales pitch when I heard one!

Oh thanks for clearing that up guys!!! That's the exact one I was talking about. Yeah, there was a green, purple and orange one in that group of scents. Man how I loved that in the summer. Y'all would have laughed at me, cause when they discontinued that stuff I went to every Lancome counter I could find looking for it lol. I was hurt too. Cause I had like a little bit left in my bottle. You know how you go to the mall and you know you need to re-up on something and you keep telling yourself that you'll get it next itme. Well, I would see the Lancome stuff and just kept tellin myself to get it next time. The day I was ready to get my smells goods, the SA told me it was D/C'd. I went to about 4 malls that day and none of them had it. It was a sad day. I've yet to find another scent quite as refreshing as that either.

I've got a soft spot for Miracle myself. I've also been impressed by Magie Noir, so I'd say those are my favorites from the house although I haven't yet smelled all of them.

I was so happy when some years ago they released Miracle Homme because I really wanted Lancome to make a great new men's scent. Problem is it isn't that great. I'll pull it out again when September and the other -ober and -ember months come, because the coffee steam quality it has is nifty for a day, but it's not anything important to know or get.

I'll be buying Miracle (femme) and Magie Noir as gifts though.
