We all walk different paths. Although I like to make a good impression, my choice of scent is based almost entirely on how I like it and what it does for me. I think it is a good thing to be considerate of others. It is possible to over-apply fragrance, and create the effect of a drive-by shooting. Some suffer from environmental sensitivity. I'd like to put in a plug for subtlety.

Montale - Black Aoud ....if you don't bathe, it will stay on you for days!
    Annick Goutal - Sables ......ditto

Someone else mentioned Grey Flannel - total MONSTER.....you will have to scrub and scrub to get that smell off.

Thank you for the overwhelming responses, I love this site!

Anyways, to get the questions. First of all, my country listing was wrong (sorry) and I have changed it accordingly (US). About needing a lot of sillage, I find that my skin is just not very receptive to scents and I dont want to layer the scents with the soap, bodywash, etc because my skin is sensitive so I'd like to stick with the soap I'm currently using. In addition, I currently own Hanae Mori EDT and I love the scent (especially initially, the citrus blast is nice but it disappears in about 30 minutes) but it has absolutely no lasting power (2-3 hours if I'm lucky) and it is almost all but gone in 5 hours, even if I touch my nose to the places I sprayed. However, I also own Sung Homme. At first, I was not a fan but have slowly grown to enjoy the complex and mysterious scent. The longevity and sillage is exactly what I'm looking for. 2 sprays and I find that I have a wonderful but not overpowering aura.

I've looked up every scent mentioned and I've created a makeshift list:
A*Men - I've already tried this on paper, but I will try again on my skin
Azzarro Chrome - I do enjoy citrus scents so I'm looking forward to this
Grey Flannel - Unbelievably cheap, I have to check it out
Opium pour Homme - I'm not sure if I can find the EDP, will the EDT still have good strength?
D&G pour Homme - Sounds distinct, will check it out
Paul Smith London - Also sounds distinct and interesting
Paco Black XS - Will try to find as well
Body Kouros - On paper, the notes look like something I would enjoy

This is just a quick list, I will look into ALL the other ones people have suggested when I get the time soon!

    Thanks again.

Opium EDT has pretty massive sillage even if you don't end up buying the EDP.

Luscious, unctious, syrupy bliss. Two sprays only otherwise the sillage will transform into a trail of destruction.

    I'll third Paul Smith London!

This is one of those designer scents that if, it was release by a niche company, would get more respect here.

Cartier Pasha and Hermes Rocabar are worth a test.

I'll add Rochas Man and Aramins Havana. Discontinued I know, but worth searching for more reasons than just sillage.

I agree - the EDP gives better longevity and sillage. That's what I went with. But I have to confess, it's a bit Angel-like. Sometimes the gourmand aspect borders on bridezilla wedding cake. I find myself leaving the bottle alone for a couple of weeks, before my sweet tooth gets the better of me again!

But perhaps that's not a bad idea - the EDP for "knock 'em dead" sillage days, and the EDT for close quarters. If you like one, you're probably going to enjoy the other.

Still, there are a bunch of nice scents being mentioned here, and expanding the wardrobe is never a bad move. I'll throw in my vote for Yatagan (Kouros with a shower, a baseball uniform, and a pine-tar bat! )

    I'll add and ramble......

Rocabar by Hermes: Tried this one out at a scent dealer locally and it was insane on my skin. Like showing up for a string quartet recital with a Gibson Les Paul and a 100-watt Marshall stack. Just ridiculous.

Quorum by Puig: Whatever happened to the honest $0.25 cigar? Well, my guess is that they all wound up getting smushed and pureed and used for making Quorum! Does to the olfactory senses what a laser-light show does to your eyeballs. Ehh....I still like it.

Cigar Afficionado: Used to be pushed in department stores, but now you can find it on E-Bay cheap. More tobacco, but if it's kidkin' it's kickin'!!

Jacomo de Jacomo: Waft-a-licious!! Just rages but in a cool non-destructive sorta way. And, yes, a quite frugal pricetag to boot!
