CB I Hate Perfume's Wild Hunt
after checking my fragrance wardrobe I've noticed that most part of my scents are -
I miss a true "forest" fragrance, so the smell of wet soil and leaves, trees, pine but not only... Please avoid Pino Silvestre and Acqua di Selva
BTW, I'm going to buy Loup Mechant by l'Artisan Parfumeur, which I like, even it is not the scent I've tried to describe.
Thank you in advance and cheers. W

Malle - Vetiver Extraordinare (pull out your hiking shoes..u may plough through some soil and grass on your way thru the woods..)
Malle - French Lover (early mornings, with the sun light gleaming thru dew drops on freshly sprouted leaves on a mountain top...fresh, pure, green scent.

Chêne (Serge Lutens) is great. Route du Vétiver (MPG), too.
[By the way: I own Méchant Loup. It's very weak on me. Great for half an hour - then it dies away. Somehow comparable is Azzaro pour Homme - this one satisfies entirely.]

Trumpe Wild Fern or Penhaligon's English Fern for classic green fougere
Villoresi Yerbamate is a similar herbal green style
Bogner Deep Forest is darker and more complex, highly recommended
Nicole Farhi Man for wintery pine forest
Creed Cypres Musc for a hard green wood
Creed Epicea for smoky pine ember and wood.
I can't find my Knize Forest decant just now, but I recall it being interesting, but is it still available, I wonder?
I suppose demeter dirt would make a good base to add the damp ground aspect missing from all of these.
I guess I'll be the first to recommend Monocle Scent One: Hinoki, it's a sweet pine and cedar that's come the closest to evoking thoughts of a forest out of anything I've tried.
Narcisso Rodriguez For Him smells like a damp mossy new zealand forest in the morning
"You smell kinda pretty! Wanna Smell me ?"
- Johnny Bravo
Dude! Tam Dao's awesome.
I actually always thought of Azzaro Visit as a dense, green, evergreen forest.
I'm a colognosaurus. Rawr!
Profumum's Victrix is one that you should check out.

A few of the suggestions above are, in fact, forest-y. However many of them do not smell like soil or leaves.
I have to agree with DesGrieux's recommendation. Route du Vetiver by MPG does smell like a forest floor. Waldemar - try to get the older formula, if you do sample RdV - it's in the RED bottles, not the orange ones. Another great suggestion (muddasir) is Wild Hunt by CB I Hate Perfume, but WH has horribly low longevity. RdV does not - it lasts quite a while. You have to like vetiver, though.
I love this topic! And I love forest scents! To me they are calming, uplifting, mood-enhancing. They make a bad day better and a good day great!
Check out this recent thread, "Ultimate Pine for a 23 yr old", in particular my big ol' list of pine scents.
Fern/fougere scents are also excellent: Geo. F. Trumper's Wild Fern and Penhaligon's English Fern in particular. Honorable mention to Bois 1920 Extreme.
Mazzolari is fine.
Resinous scents like Malle's Bois D'Orage (French Lover) and Armani Prive Bois D'Encens are superb and dry.
And, as noted, Creed's Epicea and Cypres-Musc are outstanding.
Cedar scents are also an option... and worthy of a separate discussion perhaps. One of my favorites is Penhaligon's Opus 1870.
And just remembered Ayala Moriel's Rainforest. UNIQUE!!
