The Kiehl can get together with Miller Harris L'Air de Rien, which is another grubby undies special - of a celebrated French singer no less!
Just thought of another one I really can't stand- Kiehl's Musk . Very dirty knickers pants ! And Black Amber- Michele Bergman .
Oooh now this is a good topic
Scrubbers, lets see, well most Estee Lauder ones, they just give me a stinking headache.urgh just far too strong for me I think!
Angel- I keep trying it, but no, its too much, headache inducing & too strong
CKIN2U - what the hell is in it? it was vile on me.
DKNY be deilicous - the apple one, nope not for me. Even Cashere Mist smelled weird on me
Ralph Lauren Romance - it doesn't develop properly on me and stays sort of 'sharp' smelling
Un jardin apres le mousson from hermes - sorry but it was truly disgusting on me, dunno what the notes are but no, possibly the melon notes, I hate melon anyway, also sur de nil wasn't much better, too much fruityness, sickly on me.
Flowerbomb - this I'm not sure of yet, I think it might be headache inducing and too sharp, I have a wee sample of it. I'm not sure what it is I don't like.........
Sunflowers - this made me feel so sick, it was awful on me
Lovelyt- I've noticed whatever the heck it is they use in these type fragrances makes me feel so sickly, some sort of weird musk or patchouli or something, bleurgh. Also same with clinique happy one of those, not sure which one, same sickly ingredient whatever it is
Chanel Allure- everyone loves it, it just gave me a stinkng headache - I bet it has patchouli in it?
I'm sure theres more

I've been avoiding this thread, because someone's scrubber is another person's favorite fragrance, but I cannot help but nominate Nuit Noire by Mona di Orio.
I wonder who's buying this stuff? And at the prices that they charge? Somebody must since they are producing it.
I see we share the same problem with NN - you may have seen my listing of at the top of the thread:
Mona di Orio Nuit Noire (mugged by rotting fruit and civet in an exotic location - this one had me clawing my neck and gasping for breath in a Parisian cafe, before rushing to the bathroom and sticking my head under the tap).
I stuck my head under the tap, as I say, but it wouldn't have taken much for me to have stuck it under a guillotine.
Hearts starve as well as bodies; give us bread, but give us roses.
Oh, my list is long: :-D
Cacharel Anais Anais
Aramis New West
Mugler Angel and flankers
Dior Addict and flankers
Dior Miss Dior Chérie
Dior J'adore (headaches)
Lauder Aormatic Elixir
Lauder Youth Dew
Lauder Beyond Paradise
Mühlens 4711 (which spoiled all classical colognes for me, I'm afraid)
all the Jardins by Hermès
Hermes Eau de Merveilles
Hermès Orange Verte
Seems I have a general problem with fragrances by Cacharel, Dior, Hermès and Lauder!

There are so many but the most difficult fragrance that i tried lately: Lakshmi by Ajne and Delrae Amoureuse. I have a small decant of Amoureuse....any takers???
Comme l'amour, le parfum doit captiver la femme dès le premier contact---André Fraysse
This makes me quite sad: I can't wear a lot of ladylike scents as I react very, very badly to white flowers. Jasmine can be ok in small doses, but gardenia, narcissus, lily, tuberose, etc make me feel sick and light headed. I have an extremely lopsided collection of bottles and testers as a result! Then again, I can also tell straightaway which popular things I should avoid.
The worst offenders I've tried:
Marc Jacobs - The worst I've tried, ever. Thought I might be sick. Love it on others, hate it on me!
Lolita Lempicka - Super sweet and piercing; instant headache.
Bulgari Green Tea - Very sharp. A coworker was wearing the body lotion and my throat began to hurt. It was so bad I said something and she went to wash it off! I felt awful.
I also did not like Jour de Fête at all. Way too sweet! I guess I don't care for the sweet gourmands OR the white flowers.
"Grubby undies" indeed! I rather like Kiehl's, so perhaps I should venture into L'Air de Rien territory, too. Stand clear, everyone.
Annachristine, funny you should think JdF too sweet. I own and love it, and I'm not usually one for the sweet scents. I consider it to be only mildly sweet. No accounting for taste, eh?
It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely products of a deranged imagination.
Mention of Cacharel above triggered the ugly memory of LouLou, Cacharel's ode to grape soda, ashtrays, and pornographic tuberose.
I remembered another scrubber, Kate Moss, the first fragrance - I think I did actually go and try and scrub it off in the toilets, it was that bad!!
Yes, Kate Moss - yuck!
Also , new discovery - Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir -I hate that stuff ! My sister has it and wears it ( trying to finish it off - I bought her another JM alternative to encourage her to stop wearing PN ) - it really does not do her any favours. It's kind of sour, unwashed, tart . A trail of salty unwashed sweaty clothes .

I only just found this thread, it's fantastic!
I'm tolerant of most scents, tending to be underwhelmed rather than overwhelmed. The only two that come to mind as scrubbers are Flowerbomb (I had a headache just from opening the vial) and EL Sensuous (just didn't smell like me in a very bad way).
LOL I practically get followed home when I wear Pom Noir. DH goes wild and it is my biggest compliment getter.
Worst scrubbers (the gag reflex perfumes)
-All Montale Aouds (I actually had to put the bottles/samples in my garage until I could swap them)
And, does anyone actually like Secretions Magnifique? I didn't apply this on purpose but got some on my nose while sniffing a strip! I was inconsolable. UGH
Funny how their such a fine line between love and hate. A couple of my worst scrubbers became HGs When I first tried Creed Fleurs de Bulgarie I hated it so much. Now I love it and find it addictive. Me= Fickle.

It's interesting to see how some people's HGs are other's 'most loathed'!
Here are a few that I haven't had good experiences with:
Clinique Wrappings - I cannot understand why some people would go nuts for this when I used to work for Clinique
Estee Lauder Private Collection - tested this yesterday, no thank you!
Elizabeth Arden Red Door - Way too intense and cheap smelling
Lolita lempicka - I acctually love the smell but it gives me the most shocking headache
Clinique Happy - I dislike this one intensly and cannot understand how it sells so well (although i don't mind the Heart and To Be versions)
Perfumes that I previously disliked when I was younger but want to revisit
EL Youth Dew (I bought Amber Nude and love it so I want to re visit the original)
Clinique Aromatics Elixer - despite it popping up a lot in this thread!
My scrubbers are all muguet scents. I adore the scent of the lily of the valley flower when it blooms in May. What's the problem, then, I hear you say. Ever since I was a child I've been taught that everything about the plant is poisonous, so I've become ridiculously careful with the real flower when I touch them. But I also get terribly uncomfortable when I've spritzed on anything reminding me of the poisonous flower, even if it is only synthetic molecules. I'm a slow learner, though, even now I have a sample of Diorissimo in my cupboard waiting.
Please may I sneak Putain des Palaces onto this list?
This week, 'Chanel Cuir de Russie: Skin Scent' at http://thescentimentalist.blogspot.com/
I don't have a very sophisticated nose....yet. But I am working my way through samples galore. I keep an open mind knowing that some notes may be a learning curve for me, but eau de Hermes violently assaulted me with C.U.M.I.N, horrid vile screaming cumin, if there were any other notes or some relief in the base it wasn't worth the torture to get there. Scrub!! The funny thing is I really love musks of every kind, if someone here calls it skanky, dirty, animal, fecal, sweaty sex, BO, dirty knickers, etc. etc. etc. then I would put money on me liking it. To my nose Cumin is not a musk- there nothing animal or human(e) about it to me. It is a spice and one I won't be going near anytime soon.
Love this thread and the creative descriptions which have made me LOL more than once.
A lot of my scrubbers have been mentioned more than once already:
Dior Dolce Vita
Tom Ford Black Orchid (love, love love White Patchouli though)
EL Youth Dew
EL Amber Nude
EL Beyond Paradise
EL White Linen
I guess there is some sort of pattern here, I'm not too fond of EL fragrances, which I find too strong and unsubtle; with the possible exception of Beautiful, which I used to like to wear but haven't re-tried lately. Dior fragrances are also overbearing and insulting to me nose. Except for Miss Dior of course, but then I am a chypre-lover after all. And anything sweet turns sickly and cloying on me. Love chypres, especially green chypres and they love my skin.
Other people's scrubbers that I love:
Aromatics - interestingly this is one of the few fragrances that I have received compiments for
Narciso Rodrigues for her
Also love the aroma of Kouros that a male colleague scents our workplace with :-)
Some of my scrubbers have been mentioned thus far, while some of my favorites have also been mentioned. Heck, that's why we are all different.
Here are my scrubbers:
Angel (really wanted to like it, but it does not like me)
Amarige (cat pee would smell better on me)
Sun Flowers (you call this a perfume?)
Red Door (stinky)
All the Elizabeth Taylor perfumes, bar none.
Opium (years ago a friend wore it and it smelled great on her, hated it on me)
Here is some of mine:
Red Door by Arden
EL Youth Dew
EL Amber Nude
Jean Patou 1000
Bal à versailles
My blog about perfume
Montale Red Aoud- initially I thought I was in heaven - it quickly turned into a nauseous nightmare. It clings to you - you'll never get rid of it .
recently came across my remainder of Patou For Ever -- my first blind buy. still can't stand it!
Giorgio Beverly Hills ! Darn it- I just succumbed to buying some - why I don't know. I will blame hormones. Anyhow, I scrubbed off the three sprays and sprayed myself all over with Shalimar to get rid of any traces after washing it off.
Take it someone ! Does anyone actually still like this stuff ?
mysticknot, I'm shamelessly raise my hand for your question about Giorgio Beverly Hills!
I'd used my mom's bottle in the 80's. Now I'm holding on to that same bottle for dear life. The Juice turned to dangerously amber color. I sprayed it once a couple years ago and almost kill someone with its smell. I'd like to blame it on the aging process though. :P I believe the fresh bottle would smell as lovely as I'd remembered. (It's difficult to find GBh in Asia, too bad.)
Oh, and my scrubbers (so far) are
--> Burberry London (w)
Creed Acier Aluminum
Jesus Del Pozo In White
Jasper- I know there are people who love G BH - I thought I did. A lovely lady I know wears it and she is just great. But I cannot take it myself - it's just overwhelmingly strong and this is she who thinks Carnal Flower is tame and wears Fracas with abandon !

Repeated here from yesterday's SOTD thread - the beyond vile David Yurman.
Tenacious, throat catching sweet fuzziness with a slightly discordant note to it.
David, stick to blinging 3 carat rocks, please. I will accept six of these as compensation for the severe sensory trauma you have subjected me to.
Are you quite sure you don't want me to send you my sample?
I cannot see a lover of Fleur Blanche getting on with this, mind...it made me feel very queasy indeed, like Boss Orange and Prada Infusion de Fleur d'Oranger - they were all bad in a similar way. So if you don't find either of the latter scents extremely furry, you might still wish to give David's a spin!

My two last acquisitions turned out to be scrubbers:
Mania by Armani (the old one, discontinued)
Addict by Dior
Both tested before.
~ Anais ~
I'm afraid I have to add Emotionelle by DelRae to this list -- too many melons! It's a "weird" melon -- something not quite right with it.
Although some people consider it to be an exceptional scent: http://1000fragrances.blogspot.com/2...e-del-rae.html
Maybe I'll be brave enough to re-test it and see what I think then!
Lutens MKK.....I have really really tried with this one, but I just can't take it, its so disgusting. I can't even make to the dry down before scrubbing it off until my skin turns red!!!!
