    Ricci Club
    (Haute Concentration)

    by Nina Ricci

Top notes: Artemesia, Bergamot oil, Green Note, Laurel, Lavender, Lemon
Middle notes: Carnation, Cypress, Jasmin, Lily of the Valley, Peach, Rose, Ylang-Ylang
Base notes: Amber, Cedar, Cinnamon, Musk, Patchouli, Sandal, Tonka, Vanilla
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost

    Tuscan Soul/Salvatore Ferragamo.

"Ferragamo introduces its newest fragrance, a captivating shared scent for both men and women—Tuscan Soul.

    • Fresh and luminous notes of bergamot and petit grain lemon.
    • Uplifting hints of orange and magnolia blossoms.
    • Comforting notes of iris flower and fig tree."

    Givenchy
    Eau de Givenchy
    Daniel Molière
    (1982)

Top Notes: Grapefruit, Mandarin, Bergamot, Fruit Notes, Green Note, Spearmint, Tagetes
Middle Notes: Honeysuckle, Ylang-Ylang, Cyclamen, Jasmin, Narcissus, Tuberose, Lily of the Valley, Orris, Rose
Base Notes: Cedar, Moss, Musk, Sandal

A very pleasant green floral, in my opinion suitable for both sexes. It strikes a fresh-floral note and reveals the green and mossy woods aspects more and more as it dries down. Citrus, fruity, and green notes (with marigolds) in the top lead off, followed by a floral bouquet of white flowers with honeysuckle, orris, and a light rose, all supported on a base of woods, musk, and moss. This is especially good to wear in fine weather; it matches the sunny mood. Its a pretty optimistic scent, giving one a feeling that everything is going to be just fine: "Everything's coming up roses and daffodils" (well, narcissus...). A very definite thumbs up for this Daniel Molière classic from 1982.

Guerlain's Vetiver pour Elle - hadn't I a backup bottle of this, I would use it SO sparingly - it's SO good, it's SO Guerlain, it kills me (like Holden always said in The Catcher in the Rye)...

From a sample from that fabulous Nose - Sloan_8013 - Satellite's Padparadscha. Top notes are juniper berries and pepper; middle notes are chili pepper and jasmine; base notes are sandalwood, amber, musk and cedar.

A girl cannot have too many Orientals...this one is quite raffinee, airy but thrumming...the flowers subdued and nicely balanced by the wood and spice. Oh dear. Another bottle??

My first full wearing. I'm sort of obsessed with lavender lately and this lavender/iris accord is lovely. I've been wearing Antaeus for a couple days and so something with softer edges is welcome.

It's a beautiful Fall Florida day. I'm wearing for the first time from a sample:
    M. Micallef Black Sea

This is really interesting stuff! There's something in it that I recognize from somewhere but I can't quite identify it. It vaguely reminds me of the plastic note in Comme des Garçons Play.

Today I've been packing away my summer clothes (sniff), unpacking my winter clothes (well, hello, you lovely tweed jackets) and testing the new Guerlains with decants from TPC.

    So far,
Oriental Brulant, a quite wonderful oriental that is at once almondy without turning to candy
Chypre Fatale, also quite nice, a fresh chypre, good sillage.
I have yet to try the third of the trio, Gourmand Coquin.

I could easily want full bottles, and the bottles are lovely indeed.
