Default Jazz is not bad, it's a pity that it's so popular

YSL is certainly not my favourite line.

M7 and Body Kouros are the one I like most.

Kouros, men's Opium and Rive Gauche are edgy in a bad sense, to my nose. I can't feel pleased wearing them.

YSL original goes into a territory owned by Chanel PM and Monsieur de Givenchy, IMO.

But, about Jazz, it seems to be one of these scents rejected due only to its popularity.

I have an old black/white bottle of it, and decided to get a sniff after a long time.

My point is: Jazz is an uncommon fougére, classier than most of them. To my nose, it's way ahead the Eternity/Cool Water/Drakkar Noir fresh patterns. I would place it together with Minotaure or Bulgari, as being a classy and unique fragrance of its genre.

But I don't like its popularity at all. It's almost a cliché.

The bottle I had in the early 90s didn't last long since I used to spray the hell out of it in a futile effort to get it to last and produce some half decent sillage. Jazz is one of those juices that I would've loved had it something more potent about it. It's just so damn 'flat' with lame projection. I couldn't say it's common because I've never smelled it on anyone, unsurprisingly.

I can't say that it's all that popular in the U.S., at least not now. I can't remember the last time I saw it in a store, either.

Love the scent, but it has poor sillage and only fair longevity on my skin. Otherwise, it would be one of my favorite fragrances because I think it smells very sexy.

Perhaps it's a local thing, but in Brazil, at least some years ago, it was certainly a top seller. I believe it still has a loyal market.

Azzaro is another scent I wish it was not so popular here, because I love it. But you can find it in every popular drugstore.

People seem to enjoy wearable old-school fougéres here.

On me, Jazz has great longevity and sillage, for sure.

Maybe it is local as I agree with Snafoo. The only store where I saw Jazz was my local niche store which closed recently. I have never seen Azzaro Pour Homme in a regular store but little bottles turn up at Marshall's/TJMaxx fairly often.

Sorry... I didn't know it was so difficult to find in US.

On the other hand, it's impossible to find other great stuff here, like Habit Rouge or Yatagan.

Chanels also seems much easy to get here than in US.

I see it in a lot of places here in the US. I love it, and would wear it regardless of whether others do or not. I don't care if something is trendy or not; I wear what I like.

    Have you tried ebay?

They've discontinued it here in Norway also. So..., popular? I saw the last bottle several months ago. When I went back to check, it was gone. I did somehow enjoy that sample I had back in the 90's though.

I agree with other posters about its strength and projection.

Too weak for my tastes...plus, to me, it's a fairly "ordinary" scent.

Not that crazy about Live Jazz either, though if the temperature in Seattle ever rose above 80, it may be a decent summer scent.

    Funny, I own both...
