Muhahaha.... thats plain wishful thinking.
Thread: self imposed BAN on fragrances.
i always took great pride in the fact that i was a minimalist with a small (less than 10) fragrance wardrobe....which was undiluted, fragrances i LOVED, and never got too bulky.
Now, i have fragrances that have been stored away in order to maintain a current roster of less than 10 scents (which my roster is STILL above....)..and that is really frustrating. I love some of the stored away scents (Fahrenheit, M:Men, B*Men) but don't find them to be really suitable for my tastes these days......i think Basenotes is responsible for enhancing my tastes beyond these designer fragrances.....i can't really sell them, because i like them. I can't use them...because i they don't capture my imagination like they used to.
so NOW, i have decided to ban myself from buying fragrances UNTIL a fragrance from my roster has a finished bottle. I just need to type this post, to remind myself of this when i come to basenotes. No more on-the-whim buys...not right now at least. My roster is getting bulky....and it's gonna be slimmed back down to shape.
.........AHEM.......of course the bottle of Porsche Design's "The Essence" that my wife has bought for me from duty free (and will come to me in 2 weeks) does not count as it was purchased BEFORE this ban....hehe....ahem.
ahh...i feel better now

I'm doing the same.. sort of. I'm looking at picking up the other accessory items for my favorite scents instead of getting more scents. I think I'll be placing an order for L'Anarchiste aftershave and deodorant stick soon. I plan on selling some scents too, so that I can keep a wardrobe of about 10-15 faves and nothing but (well, lots of samples, too! )
Good luck with your endeavor.

Iris Pallida 50ml
Ungaro I 75ml
and more! - http://www.basenotes.net/threads/301...n-Man-and-more
You can always trade the fragrances that you find less inspiring to Basenoters
And btw, we all know you can only keep your Creed purchases under control for so long before you cave in !!!!!!!!
To resist Creed is futile ......................

I think everso abandoned that plan.... he's been buying. You can't stop once you're into niche.
errrr.....it's not working! LOL
I had quite a few like that. I liked them, but I wasn't wearing them, so I decided to let them go before they went bad. I gave a few away to friends, sold some on Ebay to use the money for other things, and kept some. I have very few left now and plan to start over with scents I know I would enjoy using more on a day to day basis. Even though most of my fragrances are discontinued and/or higher end, I am not a collector, like some people are. If I'm not using something, I want it out.
Another way I get more variety is to buy bath and body products in notes that harmonize with my scents and use them to layer. I enjoy soaps, powders and lotions every bit as much as perfumes, other people have their own ideas, that's just how I deal with it. I also stayed off perfume boards when I couldn't buy anything, our finances took a big hit this year. I'm only back because it's the holiday season. Actually, that did a good job of rewiring my brain, as long as I continue in this self control mode.... good luck!
i think i'm gonna sell some of my fragrances that are away in the closet...you've motivated me Beachroses.
(Oh, yes, I forgot to mention that I also donated some to a thrift store that gives the money to a good cause. An added bonus is that people without much money or who have recently immigrated here shop in those places and they love scents, too. They sold everything I gave them, which gave me a good feeling.)
