I'm in love with Tocca (have gotten samples so far of Touch and Florence) and tonight I'm going to bed in Florence - Bergamot, Grapefruit Leaves, Orris Iris, Violet, Blonde Woods, Skin Musk....although it's heavy headed rose on me, underpinned by the bergamot. I just LUVLUVLUV it. Thank God II'm broke and can't go any further with this madness.....

Wow, Mario--late felicitations on your special day and/or night!
SotD: Chanel Eau de Cologne
SotE: Parfum d'Empire Ambre Russe (from my shiny new bottle!)
I must give credit to the "try sampling or a large decant for several days" before buying methodology. I think I went through at least 5ml of Ambre Russe before I decided--yes, I love this scent. I am also coming close to this on the Chanel EdC, but definitely can't afford a FB of this one!

(Happy belated birthday to Mario ).
Was travelling on 1st and 2nd - took a sample of Miller Harris Citron Citron with me (along with a FB of Kenzo Amour). Wore the Citron Citron on the 1st. I've changed my mind about this from "meh" to, hey, "I think I get it". It's a green citrus, not a sweet citrus and when worn by a woman doesn't retain its initial (perhaps too strong) "after-shave/traditional-cologne" hybrid impression that I've been fooled by before. Verdict: Citron Citron is a lovely travel fragrance. It's the kind of refreshing, invigorating, deodorising/foul air purifying, and not at all nauseating smell that suits stinky train carriages very well.
I must dig out my sample of Citron Citron for it had also landed in my second drawer / "meh" category along with a few other MHs, to be truthful and its nearest equivalent, Eau d'Hadrien. I had such high hopes of the house, but there isn't a single one for me so far with an out and out wow factor, though the iris one is pretty. Yes, I should have a comprehensive MH retest day.
Terre de Bois from MH did make me go wow from the outset, but that has been the only one of hers that's had the wow factor for me. Both hubby and I are also slowly, but surely getting seduced by the (now running out) sample of Feuilles de Tabac. On him, not me, mind you.
Now you mention it, Terre de Bois (the smell of a "gorgeous Frenchman", allegedly), was another one that made a stronger impact, so much so that I gave it to my brother last spring, and had forgotten it in my mental reckoning. Interestingly, I have a friend in London whose perfume quest was prompted by an unpleasant encounter with Fleur Oriental (sic).
