Watch out for that Cuir d'Iris... I found I had to immediately have a bottle. I think you mentioned exactly the PGs I haven't tried yet.

Anyway - received as gifts today:

    CdG Hinoki

    Ineke Chemical Bonding

Thanks to my fiancee who somehow managed to purchase these without me noticing while we were shopping together.

(if there are any other Ineke fans out there, I know of a store that's selling their Ineke stock at 50% off because they're no longer carrying the line. PM me for info)

During this month I got rid of some fragrances and bought the following:

    Azzaro pour Homme
    B*Men
Boss Number One (Will return. See reason below).
    Cubano Gold

Is it just me, or is Boss Number One a bit mellow? I've read reviews that say that it's really potent with great silleage but I find it to be calm not too long after the initial spray. I really like the smell but after reading how it's supposed to be potent and powerful I am left underwhelmed by its strength. Is the strength and potency perhaps overrated? Can anyone speak about this? I think I'm going to return it because it's just not as powerful as I had hoped judging from the reviews. It's a shame since I really like the smell but it's just too damn weak in my eyes after I was hoping it would be a silleage monster.

    Chant d'Aromes by Guerlain

A used, refill (recharge?) Eau de Toilette bottle (not sure if it's vintage or new juice). Sparkling, stiff chypre - reminds me of Y by YSL, White Linen by Estee Lauder and/or Mitsouko by Guerlain minus the peach, with more fizzy florals.

Today I went out and bought Paco Rabanne Black XS. I smelled a sample I had yesterday, and I used half the sample just smelling it in the air. And since it's so cheap, I got the 100ml, so it's going to last me for a while.

I also got a tin of the shower gel and after shave as a gift. All in all I'm pretty satisfied!

Not "bought," because I bought it and prepaid it a while ago, but rather I received Cartier Roadster today. It seems just as nice as when I smelled the tester and decided to buy it. Now to find an opportunity for a full wearing...

As a special treat, my spouse drove me up to Mendocino yesterday and while there, we stopped in various shops, including one called Perfumes Mendo, presided over by the gracious Judith Brandman. I found there, among other things, the two which I bought: Chevignon and Keiko Mecheri Bois de Santal. I will post about these after I have had a chance to give them a full wearing.

Guerlain Homme, the 50 ml. size. For the price, it's better than a lot of other stuff out there. Will it be a classic? I doubt it, but with tastes evolving the way they are, who knows?

Two vintage mini bottles (off Ebay) of YSL Pour Homme by Y.S.L. and Kouros by Y.S.L.

YSL Pour Homme is a blind buy. Never smelled it before, and honestly I didn't know what to expect. Well...I expected an 80's powerhouse. And it is one. But (and I'm not sure if this is because this is a really really old mini) but this juice is not only incredibly strong but it's incredibly animalic. When I screwed off the mini cap, there was a foil sheet covering the bottle opening. I tore it off with my fingernail and for the rest of the afternoon all I could smell was the scent of YSLPH in my office. My SOTD got instantly drowned out. I also, immediately had a deja vu moment when I smelled YPH. Someone (maybe an uncle or some older man in my past) wore this. I got the image of golf clubs, mens locker rooms, deodorant. Not sure why. It smells very butch. Which, honestly, is quite refreshing to my 'colorful' wardrobe.

Kouros I owned and wore as a kid. It's probaly been more than 20 years since I've smelled it. After all of the comments and threads about this scent I feel like I owe it to myself to have it in my wardrobe and this mini solved that.

I haven't even opened up the mini yet. The box that the mini came in was disintegrated, it was so old. The juice is in a clear 5 ml splash mini (not the white bottle) with white font and the juice is a deep gold color. I plan on popping this open and skin testing this when I have the opportunity to be all by myself and when I won't be around people. Looking forward to it.

After a terribly long day of work (over 14 hours of it...!) I decided to do something nice for myself and bought some Kölnisch Juchten. I've been sniffing a sample for a while (thanks to TwoRoads!) and decided that it's a leather fragrance that meets my expectations (rich and deep, and not sweet).

I had a bottle of Kyoto waiting to be shipped once the Las Vegas Barney's got their stock back in. I thought about it and realized I would only wear it probably 3 times a year and decided to get something in its place (I had to get something since I had already ordered it and was just waiting on the stock replenishment). I finally decided I really wanted to add something from Acqua di Parma to my collection - I had original Colonia on one arm and Intensa on the other (I use original as aftershave pretty often) and while I really enjoy many of the original's qualities and likely will end up buying eventually, the bright fizziness of the Intensa is what I think I needed right now (I really like Chanel's Eau de Cologne and it shares some aspects).

I ordered a 1.7oz only to mull over how silly it was that I didn't spend the extra $29 to double the size. I called my SA back and splurged on the 100ml even though I rarely make it through that much.

Longevity is average with this one too. It's the sillage that's insane. Just a touch...and suddenly it's everywhere around where you turn. Not in an obnoxious way either...in a clean, scrubbed lemon-y way. But nonetheless, it's there.

I have a bottle of Derby on it's way from Bergdorf Goodmans in New york. If it's 75% as good as the old formulation I'll be happy.Well maybe 80%. At any rate I guess in a few days I'll find out.
Don't panic. Just stay calm, and reload....

I just picked mine up last week at Neiman's in Chicago and I really like it. I can't compare it to the original though. I'd like to hear your thoughts when you get your new bottle.
