Default The harmless little kitten called Quorum.

I tried this classic today, spraying twice on my arm. I then blew it dry and pulled my shirt down. I waited for disaster, mayhem, chaos, and destruction. What I smelled was a slightly "soapy" mixture of pine, tobacco, possibly some amber, etc. It certainly wasn't anything I'd go out of my way to buy, but there's a lot worse on the market. Of course, I guessed that the aquatic/ozonic crowd usually needs to spray 5 or more times per application, and that's not the way to use Quorum, but wouldn't most people just spray less the next time? I'm really surprised at the comments and reviews about Quorum here on BN. If this is the kind of fragrance you seek, go ahead and order your 100 ml bottle for $10 (or get it at the local discount store). It won't bite, if you use it correctly. I generally like frags that are a little sweet, and this wasn't sweet at all. It's also a little soapy (some lavender?), which I tend to dislike as well, so if you are like me this way, then yes, avoid it. But do not fear it !

    Fear Quorum? Not a chance!

Growing up in the 1980's, I quite liked this but never owned it. Had others of it's ilk though. The bottle I now own was gifted to me by a kind friend here on Basenotes and I do wear it from time to time. Seeing as how I own Kingdom, how could I fear Quorum?

Nevertheless, it has its place in the rotation and, yes, I have received compliments when wearing it!

Quorum was a scent of my youth. You are giving sensible advice for today -- namely to apply in small doses. It is much more potent than the current rather tepid fresh scents. I think Paco Rabanne is better, and there are ones even better than PR from the 70's-80's. But yeah, Quorum is OK.

    who's the little KITTEN ?
twice on the arm ! .... mate what are you afraid of ?

I will never forget this golden era of frags .
    Breifly ...
When Quorum first came out .....
My sweet darling at the time came immediately from the import warehouse where she did clerical work to the hot sweltery metal-shop where i was with the tester in hand to spritz me
ooohh the memories .... of her .

I eventually bought a bottle & have used the big Q ever since !!
its brother Q Silver has balls too .
Why this is sold cheap we will probably never know .
What a world it would be if all the other designer frags can come down to Puigs prices !
Bigsly , give it a real spritz mate , your loss otherwise

I loved Quorum when younger. I gave it a test run again a few months back..the initial burst still is off the charts but the drydown is great and manly. Still can be used in moderation but I don't see buying it.

The Quorum one buys now is nothing to growl about.

The Quorum I bought 8 years ago seemed to want to make hairs sprout on my chest.

Damned shame what they've done to it - I mean, while I really detested the original Quorum, I had to respect it for being what it was.

The current nice version of Quorum I actually do like, but it's nothing controversial.

Every now and then I do side by side comparisons of the two, and shake my head.

I see you didn't mention tobacco, from your full wearing of Quorum. To me, it is so tobacco prominent, it's slightly unnverving.

I can appreciate a well blended tobacco note (Vetiver by Guerlain, Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford) but this stuff leaves me cold.

    Mike:

If you like the idea of Quorum, except for the tobacco, I suggest you try Carlo Corinto (original), if you haven't already.

I used it frequently in the early 80's, almost forgot about it until now, loved the scent.

Actually, I don't. I've learned that this 'type' of fragrance, isn't my cup of tea. Thanks anyway.
