Probably not the best picture of that one, now that I look at it.

Of the 4 that are left, two of the houses have produced other contest stumpers.

Three of the houses are in the BN directory. Two of the bottles are in the directory, without pictures, including one that might be best guessed by puzzling over its form and implied function (a miniature "guess the fragrance by the picture" puzzle).

This is all absolutely no help at all, is it. (Or maybe I gave too much away!)

(For those of you who just like having the wallpaper, thank you for chiming in! The wallpaper idea was primary (inspired by musse ), and the contest part began as an afterthought with the red bottles.)

So sad... I had not been on the board for quite a few days and just found the new contest. Everything I knew or could find it's already known. I tried looking for the remaining ones but with limited time did not find anything.

Maybe tonight from home I'll give it another go.

Tang, the pink bottles are so beautiful and feminine. Thanks again for a great collage and a great game.

Just because its making me crazy and I need to say it out loud and hear "nope that's not it."

My feeble eyse think they can make out the words Basic Instinct on Row 1 #4 but the two possibilities don't giveme bottle matches when I do the search.

So I'm going to guess with no reason to believe I'm right:

Row 1 #4 Basic Instinct by Victoria's Secret

Same thing. Maybe it's an old bottle format for it, but I haven't found it, but I read the same "basic instinct" on it. It's had me stumped. Gotta know, gotta know...

Mitsouko named the bottle whose house is not in the directory. Jeanne Arthes was elusive in the light blue and purple contests, too.

And the last. lonely bottle is Double Click for Ladies by Kesling. After having nightmares thinking of wherever I had seen that shape, it came to me

Oh Lady_in_Black great job! It was just itching at me about that one. I spent way too much time searching on Basenotes' directory all sorts of names--who would think "double click". It's one of those OH YEAH, OF COURSE! V-8 moments when you actually find out.

Good on you, SirSlanty! I figured the Basic Instinct one was either an old bottle from Victoria's Secret or from someone else, and I stopped searching figuring someone else would get it before I would.

Great work on an AWESOME PUZZLE, thank you Tang! Not only is it beautiful, but it is composed of some really obscure scents too. How ever did you do it?

The Déjà Blue contest was almost perfect... if I recall, the Avon Blue Angel bottle was the only one left partially unnamed.

Just to clarify... some secret Santas have asked to spread their point wealth around with other Basenoters. I won't change the proportions of the drawings, and the probability should stay the same for all players, as there will still be 124 chances to win (123 + 1 for the Double-Click's extra point).

From bottle consultations to prize contributions to point sharing, the generosity and kindness here make me just a little verklempt.

    Give me a second...

    Finally!

    The Results:
We had 28 players this month, up from the purple contest's 25, and the previous contests' 6-8 (where each player had to try to identify ALL the bottles). This format is a lot busier, but I like it!

To draw the winning tickets, I again used my handy spreadsheet and the RANDom number function, re-calibrated after each drawing. The RAND function selects a ticket number as randomly as if I had selected from 124 pieces of paper in a hat.

    The Winners:
    For the gift certificate: darkdreams

For other prizes, in no particular order (still working out who gets what):
    insamcha
    BlackCat
    lynnaea
    dpak
    Lady_in_Black
    ChantillyLace
    SomervilleMetroMan
    lushsoup
    tdi
    kumquat
    mamamia
    Jasper

(A 12th prize was added: the book Fashion: a Crash Course (2001), because of its hot pink & black cover. It's been registered with BookCrossing, so the recipient can track its journey and choose to keep it or pass it along for more traveling.)

Each of you will be contacted regarding your prizes. :bounce: Congratulations, and thanks so much for playing!

Special thanks again to Asha, Grant, and other prize contributors and to my bottle consultant.
A lot of the credit for these contests should go to several Basenoters behind the scenes. Thank you!
