They actually have a unique style and like you said there unconventional. They do have a few that caught my eye. But I'm not a big fan of rubber straps.

Nixon 51-30 chrono watches for men are cheap but solid & elegant for your everyday fashion. For sure this will not hurt your pocket or lose your fortune. Only 299.

I bought the new style Longines Hydroconquest Quartz in blue and I just love it. Sold off a Tag Carrera I was tired of. Plus, automatics can wear on me a little. Sometimes I just want to grab a watch off the dresser and just slap it on. Quartz watches are nice, simple and accurate.

i was into my watches (well i still am) but ive managed to get the collection i wanted so i no longer search!

i traded and bought for a good many years until i found my holy grail. The Breitling Cosmonaute. i found one at a dealers, with original box and papers, and verified and serviced by breitling themselves.
sold a few watches and paid the princely sum they wanted. it wont ever get worn, its an investment for my four year old son.
    the watches i do wear?
i have a breitling montbrilliant, a tag heuer F1 Calibre S, tag heuer Monte Carlo, Citizen Red Arrows Ltd edt, (my daily watch) and one i never paid for, my breitling Emergency, which was given to me for my retirement from the Pathfinders, enscribd with my number and service by breitling.
my wife wears an original Tag heuer F1 woman, (about 1996 model) and despite me offering a new Link, or a Carerra she says she loves the watch and wants nothing else!

Here's what I rock, from WeWood. I have never really been in to watches. I'm an artist/designer and enjoy the outdoors. This brand makes some really unique stuff, at a very reasonable price, so it fit the bill!

Now that I'm more comfortable with wearing something, I may look in to some more classic timepiece designs... or maybe not. We'll see!

Do you like the shape of the case? Personally I'm not a fan at all. Different strokes I guess.

Yes, thanks for asking, this case shape is one of my favorites (along with rectangular cases, though I do own a few watches with classic, round-shaped cases too).

The watch that I wear to the office most often, love that it has a power reserve - it's almost a must for an automatic.

A friend owned an old Rolex with a green crocodile strap that he said was his grandfathers from WWI... it was the most beautiful thing.

I am wearing the heck out of my new (to me) Omega Sea Master James Bond Quartz in black. I love that I can just grab it and go. Sold off a Ball and my Longines and I have zero regrets. I can't remember when I've worn one watch more than this one.

That's purdy!!! The color scheme is similar to a Tissot dress watch that my wife loves on me.

I'm wondering what the iWatch is going to do to traditional watches. They come in all sorts of prices and styles; some of them being extremely gaudy.....reportedly costing up to $10,000!

I'm telling myself I don't want one, based on what I've seen so far. But if everyone starts wearing one, it will be for a reason, and it'll probably become mandatory to have one....like a cell phone is now.

I have many watches, but I do fear they are about to become obsolete. They kind of are already since a lot of people don't use a watch anymore because they always have their phone.

My watch is a style choice...not really for time telling. I need my bling. The tech watches are not very attractive or classic looking. I don't wear a watch out of necessity, it's for the looks.

Really wanted to post this family heirloom, valuable for me due to sentimental, more than any the reasons. While at the lower end of Swiss watches, this particular brand has quite some history in my family, becoming in a quite unplanned manner, wearing one being quite a trademark accessory for some of some of my closest male relatives.

My maternal grandfather owned one identical to the pictures below (not quite his, just some random internet pics of a wristwatch completely identical to his one, that became eventually mine), as did my father- yet another completely different type I know much less about, as well as paternal uncle, elder brother of my father who got yet another watch of this brand as a gift from precisely my dad (again, sadly no info available about his watch either).

So, being the fourth in an increasing line of proud wearers of this particular brand- up to the point of considering purchasing a newer model myself, after being quite satisfied with the vintage one.

Long story short, here are the promised pictures, from a few different angles:

If I am allowed to confess a little secret, always considered the Max Bill series by Junghans, at least equal, if not even slightly superior, not just in terms of technical accomplishments, but mostly in terms of classic, understated, streamlined and non-nonsense design, to various more premium brands (as much as also admiring the work of Max Bill in general, as one of the most spectacular and original creative minds of the 20th century).

At any rate, an outstandingly gentlemanly and tasteful choice (again, in my humble opinion).
