Possibly also Doxa and Tissot at the upper budget limit, if willing to either accept a quartz mechanism at normal retail prices or wait for a massive bargain and/or a vintage special offer for their mechanical/automatic models

If they had the original pocket watch, they could sell it for 4x the price of these wristwatches they are creating.

These watches do exist. They are not sold in Walmart though. Just google it. Why do we even have this discussion?

If he has a 100% all original Patek Philippe pocket watch that has the original case, original dial, and all original movement parts and the only thing done to it was strap lugs were welded to the sides of the case so a strap could be added, then my apologies. The pictures he said he is going to post will easily clear that up. I know those types of watches do exist but they are very rarely done to an all original Patek or Rolex because it greatly devalues the collectible pocket watch.

Here is a link to what I am talking about:

    https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...marriage+watch

These are the well known controversial "marriage" watches that are being produced in the Ukraine and have been discussed on the watch forums for years. I assumed we are talking about these because there is no controversy about the type you are talking about.

Look at the Hebdomas for example in the middle of the page. It states original everything. There are many like this.

Cool, got a link to the business you bought the Patek & Rolex from? I'm interested in what they have.

Somehow I accidentally got unsubscribed from this thread for months and missed a lot of beautiful watches. Congrats everyone. It’s nice to see the watches themselves and the appreciation.

A while back at a yard sale I found a 1940s “Nameton” lady’s watch and it is being serviced now. (Anyone ever hear of Nameton?) Technician says the works are good quality. I like wearing vintage men’s watches and also these tiny women’s dress watches. They’re not very popular but I love them!

    Much appreciated.

With regards to the 114060 (Sub), it’s a 904L Stainless Steel case. But, it does feature 18ct White Gold surrounds, hands and needle.

Very nice looking Orient. They make some excellent quality watches at a reasonable price.

Thanks. Did not know about them till I got this gift. I find it very beautiful. Was not sure about the movement or any of the watch-ey stuff . Not my area.
But seems to hold time well so far.

Meant to send a picture of this before, but wanted to get this posted right quick before heading to spend some time with family today. Below is a watch I recently received for reaching 20yrs with my company. Wears comfortably. Although it's not a watch that was on my purchase radar, I must admit that so far I am impressed with it and it's been an enjoyable wear. Hope everyone has a great day. (I'll try to get one more pic with better lighting later.)

The Seiko SKX009K2 I recently received is turning into a great everyday beater for me. While the Jubilee bracelet isn't the strongest I ever owned it is very comfortable. Nice buy at $172.

Thanks, Chuck! It seems to go with pretty much everything, dress or casual. I'll wear it proudly, if no other reason but for the time put in to get it. I believe it's 43mm. I'm a large guy and it's a good size for me. My favorites seem to fall in that 43-45mm range, although my daily driver (in a chemical plant) is a larger Casio G-Shock Rangeman.

It's been a little while, today's watch of the day is the Tissot T005.517.17.057.00 Quadrato Chronograph. I don't give this one much wrist time, but it's a keeper for me.
