    Default NASA commisions ´space´ scent

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/new...cle4958670.ece

    and for the dutch people

Summary is that NASA has asked Steven Pearce to recreate the smell of space, because apparently it smells very different out there. The scent would be used for training to make the training of astronauts more realistic.

Space smells a bit like steak and hot metal.

Wasn´t there a recent perfume release with notes that included magma (molten rock)?

Bonus: mentions vibration and molecules, Turin should be pleased.
But once you get locked into a serious perfume collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

"Outer space smells like hot metal, fried steak and the welding of a motorbike, scientists suggest."

Sounds like one for the guys! Add a beer and they're all set.

That would be Comme des Garcons x Stephen Jones. Violet and meteorites? Sure! Why not..

Hmm...according to Anousheh Ansari (who has actually been up there), "SPACE" does have a unique smell:

"strange… kind of like burned almond cookie"

By the way, this is a fascinating blog written by a fascinating woman... and she even tells you about how they wash their hair in space among other things!
