Default If you had to pick one******with a twist********

If you had to pick one fragrance to give to someone who does not share our passion, to get them hooked, what would you give them?

I love to spritz my friends with Santa Maria Novella´s Nostalgia! Only problem is my sample is running empty...

I do this to show that perfume is (or should be) art, and this is so different to everything else, AND IT SMELLS SO GOOD!

    Great question B !
I have done this twice , once with good old Pierre Cardin & another with Aramis .
Both were aftershaves & this has been a technique that generally works with even the most hardened of neanderthals ....
A/S is a great way for luring them in , without creating any phobia , it teases them just enough making them want a little more more !
If they ever comment , tell them there is a much longer lasting version .
    cheers

I bought a good friend who only wore perfume on special occasions a 50ml bottle of TdH for his birthday. He must have loved it as I now smell it on him all the time (even when we go on bike rides!)

    kidding.

Creed SMW and Santal Imperial will do the trick.

Hate to say it, but Id go with Creed or Chanel.
The first are good to introduce people to fragrances and they are quite easy to wear. Chanel already has a good reputation on its own and they have a scent that will satisfy most tastes. Next I would try The Diff. Co.

I agree with Bulgari Pour Homme. Subtle, warm, and slightly spicy.

I will also add Burberry London (unless it's the middle of summer).

I'd go with what got me hooked. Millesime Imperial. Everyone I have ever showed it to has loved it. Even a friend of mine who tried it on went home and his mom loved it so much she bought him a bottle.

When I take my friends to test fragrances, they like Body Kouros. It has a certain appeal to the untrained nose.

Great question. I've converted many a human to the scent world. Some of those defining moments were achieved with:

    Bvlgari Black
    Guerlain Rose Barbare
    Serge Lutens Chergui
    Cartier Declaration Essence
Miller Harris Feuilles de Tabac (this one is a repeat performer - I've hooked 3 people, so far)
    L'Artisan Timbuktu
    Caron Aimez-Moi (2 people)
Hermes Un Jardin sur le Nil (another hit - 3 people, so far)
    ETRO Sandalo
Bond No. 9 Chinatown (also a big hit - 3 people, as well.)
Chanel Bois des Iles extrait (only everyone whos ever smelled it.)

    for the uninitiated:

male (most uninitiated still make these distinctions, so): Gendarme

female (same statement above applies): Philosphy Pure Grace or Amazing Grace or whatever the name is

These are both approachable and smell like soap, something familiar to most everybody; I don't think they'd repel anyone

great choice, man....truly one of the GREAT scents of our time. The more i use my bottle....the more i love it. It is epic.

i generally give people atomizers of Cuiron. i recently gave some to my father, a couple of my friends...etc......they all seem to get quite fascinated by it.

Carnal Flower worked great on many of my (male and female) friends.

I would also suggest l'air du desert marocain for sure...
    Current top 10 in no particular order : Malle - Carnal Flower (pre 2008) ; Montale - Black Aoud ; Bond #9 - Silver Factory ; Tauer - L'air du désert marocain ; C&Z - No 88 ; Francis K. - APOM ; Creed - Aventus ; Amouage - Epic ; Profumum - Dulcis In Fundo ; Amouage - Opus V

I think Terre D`Hermes or Viktor & Rolf Antidote should work.
My current Fall-Winter rotation: Baldessarini EdC - Canali Men - Dior Homme Sport - Gucci PH I - Guerlain Homme - Issey Miyake L`Eau D`Issey PH Intense - Lalique Encre Noir - Loewe Solo - Terre d`Hermes - YSL Rive Gauche PH
