Thanks Paul. I was wondering what Mr. Hornetz looked like. I love Laudamiel's trademark mohawk, too, along with the few scents of his that I've tried!

Yowza! Not only talented, but also beautiful. She's signed her name to the following creations:

    Amouage Memoir Man
    Amouage Opus III
    L'Artisan Coeur de Vetiver Sacre
    L'Artisan L'eau de Jatamansi

I honestly think she's my favorite perfumer at the moment, as I feel that Memoir Man and Opus III are masterpieces (and also personal favorites) and CdVS is also really really good. I've got to order a sample of Jatamansi!

    *L'eau de Jatamansi

Some additional information about her from L'Aristan's website:
"After 2 years studying at ISIPCA (perfume school in Versailles), Karine Vinchon Spehner started her career at Robertet alongside master perfumer Michel Almairac before becoming a junior perfumer in 2006.

Nature plays a key role in Karine’s inspiration and memories. She loves to work with woody and ambery notes as well as natural essences such as patchouli and vétiver. She creates perfumes like she paints, solely driven by emotions, beautifully expressed through the natural Eau Naturelle de Jatamansi and the recent launch Cœur de Vétiver Sacré."

lol, Thanks for that tidbit, I'd never heard it before. Wargnye seems like a cool guy, if one can determine such from a perfumer's creations. His scents are never stuffy or too convoluted, just pleasantly masculine and often times rather laid back.

    Edmond Roudnitska 1930

Roudnitska in old age (he lived to be 91)

Edmond Roudnitska was perhaps the last of the old-style parfumers. In 7 decades of work he created only 17 perfumes. But what perfumes! [Diorissimo took 3 years; Madame Rochas 3-4 years; Eau Sauvage took 7 years!]. Was born and lived in Grasse. Any thread featuring portraits of the great noses should not leave out the legendary Edmond Roudnitska. IMHO.

I was thinking of this lady when wearing Cartier L'Heure Mysterieuse last night. A beautiful scent. Though I am not sure if I've got to have it.

Isn't it refreshing to see a perfumer not adopting this silly „I am a perfumer” pose with this paperstrip close to the nose. That always reminds me of a tv show thirty years back where a team had to guess a guest's profession only by asking questions that could be answered with yes or no. And before they started the guest had to show a job-related gesture. Waving the invisible paperstrip.

Oh, what a great thread! Jean (he did Loulou for which I am eternally grateful) and Aurelien Guichard:

I never tire of looking at Kilian Hennessy photos but I see that's already been posted

Yeah, I love this thread! Great picture. Aurelien has done some marvelous stuff. One of my faves of his is Kenzo UFO - that was brilliant stuff, and a treasured bottle.

I haven't tried that one, nor any of his newer scents, but I thought what he did for Bond's Chinatown was nothing short of genius - it combines modern and classic aesthetics so beautifully.

    -YSL Opium
    -Dior Dune
    -Dior Fahrenheit
    -Hermes Bel Ami
    -Oscar de la Renta
    -Grey Flannel
