Default Anyone tried Christian Lacroix Noir?

If yes, what are your thoughts on it? Worth buying or not? What smells similiar to it? Longevity satisfying?

I'm also very intrigued by this pairing of the high and the low. I don't think that it's available as of yet.

They are obviously selling Noir in Europe now.It isavailable on Ebay/Portugal until Jan 10 for less than $20. A wrist watch comes with it.
According to a fragrance description written in German, the heart note includes "opulent Florentine iris"
"..Frischer Ingwer, Exotischer Safran, Herznote: Kardamom, Opulente Florentiner Schwertlilie. Basisnote: Vetiver, Weiße Zeder"...
(sorry, no time to tranlate it all right now, but ginger, saffron, cardamom, cedar and vetiver are obviously in it, too).

Well, I did and It was a complete let down...
There's no "noir" in this fragrance, It should have been called Christian Lacroix Jour.
It's short lasting and has no character. Just a casual gingery scent mixed with some light woods.

I'm trying to find someone at work who does Avon, so I can get a sample. I loved CL Tumulte PH, and the pyramid for Noir sounds interesting.

Thanks, You just helped me avoiding the first mistake n 2008 ! From saffron to white cedar the pyramid did read quite tempting to me. 'Noir' seems to be a favorite term with marketers these days. It has been abused for more than one perfume now.

Bah! I really want to like this one. I hope it is better than it probably really is. But who cares? It's just money.

I thought the same here and boy what a difference from the woman's scent.
I thought Rouge was ok but after smelling Noir i gave Rouge a better assessement.
And you're right, it has no longevity.

Sad, but I still want to try it. I love Tumulte and have high expectations from Lacroix. However, don't expect much from AVON and wonder why they partnered this time (other than for money I mean).

So are there any more opinions about this one? There was no much discussion, so I decided to bump up this thread again.

"Opulent Florentine Iris" for less than 20$ and with a watch too?
Don't think so thinking at the really expensive prices that florentine iris extract (specially natural but also high quality synthetic) has.

I'm wearing this one today and it's somewhat similar to Kiton Black in the woodiness but nothing else. I actually received a compliment today on my cologne from wearing Noir! It's very rare I ever get asked what I'm wearing.
