A bit of Annick Goutal Sables for this chilly evening, matching it with my hot anise and honey drink.
Looking for a sample of Gucci Envy Me.

Eternity Summer 2008 -- it was actually quite nice on this cool (26F) day.

SotD...multiple things today, some from our Scent Bar trek last weekend!

L de Lubin--wanted to try a full wearing, only to find out it is rather short lived. I think it is an EDT--it lasted about 4 hours. Today it seemed like a very heady floral, but settled nicely into the melon note that I love. After that, it was more of a clean light amber and clean musk drydown, very subtle and close to the body.

Profumum Antico Caruso--as Astraroth suggested, it does seem a little "barbershop" at first. It is fresh with some evergreen, but no ozone or aquatic notes at all. As it develops, some amber and cedar come out, then finally a very dirt-like patchouli.

Serge Lutens Borneo 1834--I am in patchouli heaven. This reminds me of my own hippie oil blend from 20+ years ago. Dry, aromatic patchouli with some spicy notes. I think it is supposed to smell like chocolate, but I don't really pick up on that note. It definitely has a sort of licorice on steroids quality, though (typical for patchouli).

Roberto Cavalli Oro (thanks an_oud_girl!!)--high pitched white florals at first, settling down to a pretty lily-of-the-valley, rose and peach combo. It has a touch of powder, too. Reminds me of Coco

Malle Dans tes Bras--has the same weird almond note that L'Eau d'Hiver does. It indeed smells like acrylic gesso (or as I stated before, a mixture of latex wall paint and acrylic artist's paint). It smells more salty than L'Ed'H, and it has a very small amount of tuberose also. That is probably what is giving it that "off" quality of salty, dirty skin. I agree with other assessments that this is highly conceptual. It is not fading as fast on my skin as it did on the paper strip last weekend.

Fall is, no doubt, here....but it seems like winter is trying to give it the bum's rush outta here!

I've been in Jacomo de Jacomo all day. Believe it or not, it helps me think warm thoughts......

    Les Néréides Oriental Lumpur

Notes: saffron, madras curry spices, nutmeg, sandalwood, vanilla, patchouli

    Two things:
1 - Les Néréides makes the best value for money niche fragrances hands down.
2 - I've said this many times before, and I'll say it again, Les Néréides Oriental Lumpur is the closest one will come to the feel of Creed's Bois du Portugal EDP.

    Saks Fifth Avenue (for Him)

...it's the one on the right. Very enjoyable. The first Bond no.9 sample that I liked.
