Hugh Parsons is absolutely Brit, but with an updated attitude for sure. Both Traditional Blue and 99 Regent St. would fit the bill.

I like Castle Forbes fairly well, but think their fragrances are pretty traditional with the modern bit.

Asprey's Purple Water is, in addition to Hugh Parsons, the only one that came to mind, that realy fits your question. Although I don't think it's as good as some more moder fragrances from the traditional houses. Trumper's GFT and Castile by Penhaligon's are prime examples.

I've tried Castle Forbes and was underwhelmed by their products.
The suggestion to try the recent releases of Trumper and Penhaligions is worthwhile. On that, (and as a matter of taste) I greatly prefer the traditional offerings. I don't feel that the modern ones have the same verve. But to each his/her own!

Among the main stream houses, I think Burberry did it well.

    Other members uneasy will remain.

Floris and burrbery are quite modern IMO.
Trufitt and Hill went way too modern and forgot about tradition.
