    Default Shake Well Before Opening

Do you need to shake a brand new bottle before spraying it?
Well do things separate settle on the top or bottom, or what not?

i don't think so....i've always thought shaking it would be bad for the scent actually....although its probably not, really.

I've never seen a perfume bottle that has its contents 'separated'....Therefore I don't think there is any need to adopt an approach of 'shake well before use' atleast for a fragrance bottle..

Infact shaking a fragrance bottle results in this temporary foaming at the top which disappears in a while..It somehow gives a feeling that you are ruining it when you shake it...

Oh ok. Its because I was drinking starbucks, one of those glass bottles, today and the bottom, there was a ring of gunk (milk proteins, i dont know) and I had the epiphany.

Anyways, this could go in that "you know you're a basenoter when..." thread.

Only bottle I ever needed to shake up was Jivago 24k. I like watching the gold flakes float around.
